All clubs leak what they want and agents do the same damn thing. Its snakes at both ends essentially.

His agent is the start of all this and now its getting nasty. Sterling doesn't like BR when not long ago he was singing BRs praises. Shows what not getting what you want can do. Its not BR who said no to a massive contract. However BR is to blame for poor form last season.

We are keeping Coutinho the player that other players think is something special. Sterling isn't spoken about by all time greats Coutinho is.

We should buy Berahino instead of Benteke. Suits our style better.

Shame really, if he'd continued his form from last season throughout the season just gone then he almost certainly would be.

Some revisionism there. We tried to keep Sterling by offering him a new contract and didn't we vote him our player of the season? I don't like what he's doing, but he is one of our best players.

If Benteke comes in it means we'll have 50 million pounds worth of strikers coming in this window in Origi, Ings and Benteke.

Agree with this - shows he has his head screwed on as well to get rid of Ward
Also younger and much cheaper than Benteke

Well chuffed if Gary McAllister does become coach-

How Sterling got that over Wee Phil I don't know in all honesty.

Ive said it over and over. Ive seen players I love leave LFC ive seen players I couldn't give a flying one about leave.

Sterling is one I don't care about in the slightest.

Sterling did not win that this year - Coutinho did

Not sure I agree with the revisionism. Everyone was a fan of Sterling during his breakthrough season and the next with Suarez - he had his head down, was making good progress and was doing his talking on the pitch.

I agree he should have been offered his contract sooner, but even late, £100k or £120k a week is plenty for where he is in his career, with a pay review in maybe 2 years.

But he's just not played well this season. I've been criticising him all season for being very average. As a lot of "professionals" have said in the media, regardless of what he wants he needs to keep his mouth shut and keep playing well. Suarez learnt the hard way.

Sterling misses training AGAIN for a second day, after calling in sick.

So not just a small 35k a week, but probably getting fined makes it even cheaper to keep him. Oh well. He's not going to win this.

Textbook from Raheem here. 2nd day is the best one of the sickies. The tricky 3rd will be a test of how big his balls are.

If hes claimed "a bad nandos" that's two days tops. Anything else and doctors will be all over him and his 3rd day gets tricky.

Any more than 5 and he needs a Doctors note...that's when it gets really tricky!

City are now believed to be biding their time believing they can sign Sterling for less than £50 million. #lfc (Chris Bascombe)
But #LFC will be happy to retain Sterling on £35,000 a week for the next 2 years rather than compromise on their valuation. (Chris Bascombe)

Just what I wanted to hear - and glad to see its from Chris -

If you assume a new contract of £100 000 a week that he might have been offered, and a start date from April when he said he rejected a contract then it's around £1.2M he's already lost by not signing a new contract.
