I really wonder whether its him or his agent or both - but what a pair of tits...
Totally and utterly. They're both losing out and the latest reports this morning from the agent saying how Sterling has no faith in BR etc etc...beyond desperation clearly. Textbook how NOT to exit a club. No doubt LFC will be glad to sell but only on their terms and not the agent's. And that means the price being right. As with the first Suarez stand off, I actually love how FSG handle this. The club has the upper hand, that's how it should be. NO club should be dictated to by a player or his agent.NRS said:
If you assume a new contract of £100 000 a week that he might have been offered, and a start date from April when he said he rejected a contract then it's around £1.2M he's already lost by not signing a new contract.
Possibly, though I suspect it was done so that it would attract a lower transfer fee for the buying club who in term would supplement his "loss" with a commensurate signing-on fee.I do love FSG selling style. Its very much "you do this as we see fit, when the right money comes and we are happy off you go"
A long time of baseball dealings will have taught them this. Also does Aidy Ward really fancy taking on a bunch of FSG legal bods. I doubt it.
He knows full well if he makes the request he loses a ton of money once a transfer request is put in.

We should buy Berahino instead of Benteke. Suits our style better.
What would you say to Benteke & Pedro? The only reason I'd buy Benteke is if Mario was leaving and it was a straight swap.

If we could get Pedro I'd pass on Benteke. If we were to buy Pedro, with the players we already have, we'll most likely play 433 with Pedro and Firmino either side of a central striker - Sturridge or even Mario would flourish here I think. Play Coutinho/Lallana in attacking midfield with Milner/Henderson and Can/Lucas behind and I think that's more than a good enough midfield and attack to compete for top 4. You've also got depth with Lazer, Origi, Ings and even Allen.

Maruo has to be going for me - will be off on loanThe only reason I'd buy Benteke is if Mario was leaving and it was a straight swap.
Why leave Benteke if they are willing to buy both ?? surely we are in a much better position having quality cover in ALL positions. ? If they are willing to buy both go get them.

Surely you don't mean straight swap financially?!The only reason I'd buy Benteke is if Mario was leaving and it was a straight swap.
And Firmino and Pedro supporting one of the most immobile strikers in the league? They'd be 20 yards ahead of Mario on every break.

How much money do you think he would lose handing a transfer request? Does that mean Liverpool have to sell him?A long time of baseball dealings will have taught them this. Also does Aidy Ward really fancy taking on a bunch of FSG legal bods. I doubt it.

Surely with the amount of money he could earn at City then handing the request in is the easy way out.

Mario is a much much better player than he was for us last season. I'm sure Benteke has his strengths but the way we play and the players we've signed/are signing won't bring the best out of him.

We've done very well not being forced to sell "stars". The main problem has been when players don't want to leave, then we're stuck with them (Borini).Looks like Macca is going to get the job: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33456515

Bloody good news I'd say. A great guy to have on the team I would have thought.Flip Martian said:
