So we're looking to spend money on someone who doesn't sound any better than who we have already?!

I know competition is good, but I thought Gomez provided that for Moreno?

Digne should be a bit further developed than Gomez - he's an international after all.

Gomez played RB for Charlton but he is a natural centre back. Unsure why he was played at LB in the pre season game.

Maybe to give Clyne game time and the chance for Rodgers to see if Gomez was ready to stay at us this season or be loaned out?

Not sure if Wisdom will ever make it at us.

Shame, he looked good when he played at RB for us a few seasons ago. At least he is going to a PL club and should be playing week in and week out. Make or break season for him.

I do like this new ruthless approach. It fosters competition and the need to be the best to break into the 1st team. If you are not good enough, you don't get in. Simple. That should drive up the quality of the 1st team, keep them on their toes and in turn generate better results. If Wisdom wants a career at Liverpool, he needs to have an outstanding season for Norwich.

Feeling a little underwhelmed with our signings but we'll see. Still very concerned that Lovren seems to have the nod over Sakho, don't think it'll be long until we see that reversed.

At the time I thought it was odd that we were in for a 20 million pound left sided centre back when we'd only recently bought a 20 million pound left sided centre back. I think Mr Rodgers prefers Lovren and will keep giving him opportunities (rightly or wrongly) ahead of Sakho. I'm certain that a settled centre back pairing is a preference to alternating between the 2 or worse still swapping from a back 4 to a back 3 and back again. Barring injuries I'd like the team that starts at Stoke to have our first choice pairing and we give them, within reason, every opportunity to settle.

"Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in 102-house property empire battle with estranged wife"

It's reckoned the ex wife could be in line for 50% of eveything now and in the future. Hope he can keep his mind on the job (of spunking millions on a team of also-rans hehe)

To be honest I can't see him being at Real too long. Great cup manager, but generally not done great in the League. At Real that won't be accepted.

I get it that she's due half of everything earned to now but 50% of future earnings is just a joke. off topic rant over.

...when leaving your old frumpy wife for a glamorous younger blonde and realising you're heading into middle age.

Yes indeed, I expect you do...
