I thought Lallana looked good today, a few good bits of trickery. Ings played hard and far better than Borini. Ibe looked a handful as always..

Looking forward to seeing the full strength team for the first time.

I think we might struggle this season again. Not convinced our midfield is strong enough or our defence.

We need to start well and watching our pre season games, I'm not inspired. This one tonight is another one that's hard to watch!

Think we've bought well on the whole, but they need to gel quickly on the pitch.

Also I hope we have a decent free kick taker this season and Heno is going to automatically take them just because he's captain.

I'm fine thanks Glen. Agree with you on your assessment. I'm surprised by the pitch time Lovren has been getting, I honestly think Sakho is the better defender. Also interesting that Moreno isn't figuring much. Will we really start with Gomez at left back? As for the midfield, I'm sure Henderson and Milner will cover plenty of ground, I'm just not sure on their ability to protect the back 4.

Didn't watch the game today though what I have seen of us pre season I think we lacked any real spark. Hopefully Firminho and Coutinho will provide that. I'm really interested to see how we line up after all these new signings.

Plenty of players are 'proven to score in the Premiership'. I'm not sure what you mean by that though.

As for squad filler, I don't think he'll play ahead of Benteke and even if Sturridge isn't fit I'm not sure he'll start enough games. Its Ibe that I'd be wanting to see get pitch time if we play a front 3 rather than Ings.

Ings was good again, very lively, should really have bagged a couple. Ibe was a danger all game. Milner played well again, good assist for Origi's first goal. The rest of midfield and defence really didn't have to do much.

I'd be surprised if we have even an average start to the season. We haven't yet had one pre-season game where our suspected first XI have played together!

P.s I was just joking - we were average but I don't pay much credence to pre-season. Win or lose doesn't say much.

Yes it's only a rumour. The bit I find hard to believe is that after the shambles of last season, Mr Rodgers would not start a pre season game without his first choice back 4 playing together.
