Pressure really came on when Lucas went off. Or maybe a few mins before as he seemed to tire(lack of match practice maybe). Other than that an excellent result, which I'd have gladly taken if offered it before hand. Manager of the month decided yet I wonder ?

Arsenal had a lot of possession, something I'd like to see us dominate going forward. We seemed to give the ball away a lot, which didn't do anything to relieve the pressure. We also did not have a genuine counter attacking threat like we did two seasons ago. Whether Sturridge is the answer to add final piece of the attack, time will tell but I hope so.

Towards the end of the match, I thought we had too many young players on the pitch. Ok we got the draw but it could have cost us. Ibe looked blunt tonight, Firmino looked ok but nothing more - still needs a few more games under his belt. Gomez again was quality (is he really 18?) and Clyne was solid. Mignolet was fantastic, Skrtel solid although the central defence creaked at times.

Overall a very good point and definite progress from last season. 6-1 against Stoke and 4-1 against Arsenal have been consigned to the dustbin.

Phew, a good away point that as we really went too deep second half and were too happy to let them have the ball in our half. All over them first half but we had to score.

Thought defence looked more solid and better organised, Lovren good and Skrtel excellent (my MOM), and two full backs did well too, Lucas added vital solidity.

Tough to be thrown into that game but Ibe was crap, looked half asleep, some of our final balls were poor and so we didn't make the most of the chances, oh Mignolet still flaps at crosses

Good performance from players and manager. 7/10.

Quite a squad too now when you consider Sturridge, Lallana, Henderson, Allen and Sakho didn't feature.

Should have been out if sight by half time but I'll take 7 points from them 3 games all day... long.. Certainly a rougher steel about us this year which is good to see

For those that said Benteke was just a target man I though he was very good
Gomez for his age and the fact he is playing a position he has never played before us was fantastic
Finally Miller was brilliant really showing that Cm really is his position

Our average age on the pitch at the full time whistle was 21.8 years old. That is very impressive.

Long season ahead and we should be satisfied with the point, though we all know that we won't have such an opportunity to play a Arsenal team with 2 reserve centre backs.

I don't like Coutinho on the left. He needs to be in the centre imo. Benteke and Firmino are still settling though that miss really was inexcusable and from what I've seen of Benteke so far he is not going to score 20 league goals a season playing up front on his own.

Milner was just that level below top class, and in a game like today it showed, like Can he did very little wrong but just didn't offer enough going forward. The end of Lucas? It'd be a shame, he is so under rated.

Full backs were very good, centre backs were more than decent and the keeper we all know as an excellent shot stopper, seems to be flapping a lot at crosses this season though.

At the moment we don't seem to offer much impact from the bench. Arsenal brought on fast attacking match winners, we don't seem to have that yet. Maybe Ings and Origi will offer that if they get the chance to develop. Ibe seems to be offering much less since he's been pushed further forward though and Moreno is borderline clueless, really should have passed the ball when he had that run.

Lets see what West Ham brings. I'd play the same back 4 and

Can Milner
Coutinho
Ings Benteke Firmino

Need to be scoring more goals.

RT, are you dropping Henders, or assuming he still won't be fit?

He's not going to be fit I don't think. I read a story over the weekend that he last played with injections and has a problem with his heel. Didn't read like it was a slight strain.

More than happy with that. 3 games, 2 wins and a draw.
Our first 7 away games are the worst start you could imagine so to have 4 points from the first 2 is fantastic!

Yes - whilst it's nice to think about winning or drawing every game if we can come out the other side of those first 7 away games winning a couple, drawing a few and losing just a couple, whilst maintaining mostly wins at home, we will be in really good shape after Xmas with lots of winnable away games on the road and hopefully the home form taking care of itself .

Agree with most of RT's assessment. I thought Milner was a good experienced head overall though and one of the standouts. Buts its all opinions... Moreno has a fantastic turn of speed, as Gomes did in the second half with his interception and break at 1 point, but clearly the blood rushed to his head and he needs to learn to keep calm. Reminded me of the kid in school who wouldn't pass the ball in the playground.

Feeling very positive after that performance - I know there were some dodgy moments but most of the youngsters are really looking promising. Ibe hasn't done anything so far this season though, but its still very early and I'm sure BR and the staff will be helping him get over whatever it is that's holding him back.

I thought Lovren was better than Skrtel last night - who finally got booked for his "I'll just push you over and no-one will notice" tactic. I hope he cuts that out. Really quite impressed with the 2 young full backs, and Can, I hope, gets a midfield berth more often now.

Benteke was far better than the last time I saw him against Arsenal - but he was up against kids this time. I agree, on his own he doesn't look as lethal as Sturridge.

Balotelli having medical at AC Milan ahead of a loan move. No loan fee and Liverpool paying part of his wages.

Milan are laughing.

Yeah overall good performance, limiting Arsenal to just 5 shots on target and another clean sheet.

It is still early days but one thing that concerns me is the amount of goals this team will be able to score. Benteke, as has been mentioned on here probably needs more support, perhaps a second striker alongside him. Firmino is still bedding in and probably won't come alive until another few weeks and Coutinho, who has greatly improved his shooting, I still can't see him scoring a lot although he has the potential. Milner, Henderson, Allen and Can history suggests will never really score, Ibe is still learning his trade so will blow hot and cold and Lallana probably won't get the game time. Sturridge is obviously due back soon which will be a huge bonus. If and when he does come back, I hope BR can find a way to play both Benteke and Sturridge together and still fit in Firmino and Coutinho and achieve a balance, as this teams needs to produce goals.

We've traded attacking threat for defensive organisation. I'm sure once we've got going a bit, in the "easier" games we'll play a bit more attacking, maybe even two up front, but at the moment you can't have it both ways.

Apparently, Mignolet now has the most number of clean sheets in the Premiership in 2015.

I cannot believe someone hasn't been sacked for this.
