Yeah you're right - I think my feeling of "meh" was after Sanchez had already gone to Arse. I'm sure there were other names mentioned but may be wrong. Just seemed they really restricted their choice - I mean how on EARTH would Eto'o and Balotelli be on any "top" club's list in the first place! Eto'o 6 or 7 years ago, yes...

Funny though, I think if we'd got Sanchez in that summer, we'd still have been after someone like Benteke this summer. Sanchez just isn't an out-and-out striker, so we still would have needed someone for when Sturridge is out.

I just can't see him going. It wouldn't make sense, it would be like BR saying "Yes, we desperately needed you against one of our top four competitors because we had 1 injury, but that games gone now, so off you todd".
