Well if that's the case, our defence stands a decent chance of coping!
Our defence is doing just fine against teams 1st line forwards m3sye said:
Balotelli's message to Liverpool fans:
I’m grateful to Liverpool FC and Liverpool fans for the time and opportunities you gave me. It’s not a goodbye but rather a farewell. I’ll be supporting you guys all the way in every competition… unless you face AC Milan
He ends up going BACK to Milan after 1 year away, on less money than he was on there, I think? Doh...I’m grateful to Liverpool FC and Liverpool fans for the time and opportunities you gave me. I don't think many of us really thought that on Monday in the second half though, did we? We did hold out and play well but there were some genuinely dodgy moments in there.
Is there any defence in the world that is gonna go to Arsenal and not let them have 2/3 chances? they are the home team, they are bound to have possession at some point in the game and they are bound to create some chances.... we kept them down to a minimum, much better than I or you probably expected yet we still find time to say we could be better.. sometimes the glass is half full as well as half empty - m3sye said:

Not at all, I'm very optimistic at the moment - but there was some awful panicky "you kick it, no you kick it" or "just kick the effing thing away" moments that would have got punished on another night. Not what you get from top 4 teams. That said, I thought Lovren better than Skrtel, and our 2 new full backs are learning quickly and impressing. And we're clearly improving. m3sye said:
They'll be sending him back gift wrapped. He'll never conform.Flip Martian said:

Yes agreed there was a couple of moments, but this really does happen to ALL top 4 teams trust me.... just maybe a little less than the others (see chelsea this year, arsenal any year, City last year etc etc) m3sye said:
didn't we do all that - for him to completely ignore everythingm3sye said:

Yes - but we were doing that most of last season; we haven't had a solid defence like a genuine top 4 club for most of BR's reign. At the moment, we are seeing improvement - I just hope he ends with what we all want, which is the top 4 defence that only occasionally plays that badly.Flip Martian said:

Thats like what my bird said to me the other night for coming in at 11pm , she bked me cos I normally come in at 3am Last season, was last season, 3 of our back 4 last season did not play most of last year - then throw into the mix we have new coaching etc its quite clear there has been a lot of time spent in pre season on defending (not just the back 4) but as a unit

Best transfer window activity all summer.
Not sure about that RT - he wont play load this year for me, only in the bigger games when he wants to be a bit more defensive ...RB was more important and FW
But let's not start thinking he's our best player. He's had some good games, he definitely helps us defensively, but that does come at the expense of attack. Plus he seems to be a big injury worry these days.
