Lets hope his injury nightmares are behind him - be like a new top draw signing this if he is back fit and sharp like 13/14

Why Firmino needs to start - really good analysis.
For this to work we need to play Coutinho in a midfield 3 with a front 3 of Sturridge Benteke and Firmino. I think we'd score goals. Be interested to see if a Milner Lucas (or any other combination) centre midfield partnership can effectively anchor the front 4.

Markovic out to Fenerbache on loan.
A good thing really, if he can't force his way into even the matchday squad. Can't be at the required level yet, I suppose. Obviously a loan to Turkey won't address the problems he's had settling on Merseyside though. Edited by Flip Martian on Friday 28th August 09:20

Are they paying us anything or is this as bad as Mario? I really had hopes for the lad, we just didn't seem to know how to use him and in the end he just seemed totally confused as a wing back.
At least he put effort in, even if he had a really challenging season. Hope he discovers some form with regular football, there must have been a reason we paid 20 million for him.

It is a standard loan so we will recoup a fee. Although probably won't be a scratch on the £20m we shed out for him. £20m!?!!? Anyway, he still has potential and maybe a move away for him with regular first team football will hopefully gain him the confidence to rediscover his previous Benfica form. One more spot of good news, well kind of, is that Borini is definitely off. He is apparently just "weighing up his options". I just wish he would stop dragging his heels. Has been doing it for the last two years! I don't think it has fully sunk into his head he has NO future at Liverpool.

Good news on Borini (when it happens!). Shame that Enrique is happy to see out the remainder of his contract without playing. Poor attitude really. One more spot of good news, well kind of, is that Borini is definitely off. He is apparently just "weighing up his options". I just wish he would stop dragging his heels. Exactly. Does he think he will get a huge signing-on fee and large wages if he is a free transfer next season at his age? If it were me, I'd be looking for the best deal now and look to see out my playing days at a good club. I am sure any transfer fee would be nominal too.type-r said:

I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere tbh, he had a good chance to go last season to a club with fans that truly adored him.He seems the kind of player that looks after no1 & he's probably better off staying for another year.

Supposedly his Mrs kiboshed that - not a fan of Sunderland (who can blame her)He seems the kind of player that looks after no1 & he's probably better off staying for another year.
Interesting - you go on the Jobs forum on here and the minute someone talks about being fired/managed out/pushed out and disowned by their boss you get everyone jumping up and down claiming unfair dismissal, go legal, get a lawyer.
Footballers are seen as disloyal and don't care about a club.
Minute a player wants the club to abide by the contract they agreed to and see out the agreement people start hating the player.
Funny old world innit.

Football seems to be a world unto itself. There are very few industries that a company could "buy" a player from another company.Footballers are seen as disloyal and don't care about a club.

In other news, doubtful that Borini will be going to Tottenham, they've just announced the signing of Son Heung-min.
