I was thinking Pep, but not sure if he was a 'Legend' at Barca.

I think in summary there aren't many around!
Instead of working I've been looking at this - very productive

So far

Franz Beckenbauer at Munich (he won the league as manager, but doesn't seem to have been around long)
Ancelotti won the European Cup twice as a player at Milan and twice as a manger so I suppose he definitely qualifies.

It's pretty slim pickings.

Somewhat off on a tangent, but are there any examples of 'Legend' status players going on to become managers and being successful at the club where they built their status?
Pep Guardiola?

Chris Turner at POSH. Depends how you define 'legend' ...

yeah but Carra is a real ledge!

Each club have their own legends for many different reasons other than trophies, but with that record I think we can safely say that Pep qualifies.

Didn't Klopp said he was taking a break for a year.
Forgive me for providing a DM link

Think it was Ancelotti taking a year off and having back surgery.
Klopp did announce a 1 year break. Just a couple of weeks ago he turned down an offer to become coach of the Mexican national team for that very reason.

Sorry thought it was him when you won it 11/12 - it was Kenny wasn't it?

Think Klopp will be good for the Prem too, who do you think he will slap first, I'm going Skrtel!

It was definitely 6 months from a few sources (that was the 1st link I could easily find). They were even talking about it on Guardian Football Weekly podcast.

It really depends which source you read. I was definitely reading an article a couple of days ago that stated he was looking to cut short his sabbatical to join us.

John O'Shea - 256 Apps (10 playing years); 5 League titles, 1 FA Cup, 3 League Cups, 4 Charity Shields, 1 Champ League, 1 Fifa Club Champ

Never going to be thought of as a 'Legend' at United. Hence my question about his status.

Not so!!

Years ago I had been on a heavy night out, we played Liverpool on the Sunday. No one else would come to the pub so I buggered off on my own, it was a dire match and I regretted my decision, until John fking O'Shea popped up with a late (80 something) winner and we beat them 1-0

He's a legend in my eyes

Sky also reporting that Klopp is due in today for talks - however he's booked in accommodation for 2 nights, so final few things may not be ironed out today necessarily.

It'll be a great coup if you get him. It's fine these managers going to clubs with limitless pots of money but let's see what looks like a good manager work at a club with less funds ... And take them somewhere. It's gonna be great seeing how he gets on.

If Mourinho is THAT special, send him to the Stadium of Light and get them into the top four ... Then I'll believe his bks ...

What does "provisionally suspended" by the Ethics Committee mean? Provisional subject to final ratification by, err, Blatter & Co.??

Don't be surprised to see him decide not to ratify it and to suspend the Ethics Committee instead. There's seemingly no limit to how far that tt will go to cling onto power.

Hoping its just shoddy writing from the journo. Beginning of the end for all of them, hopefully.

But probably not. Blatter will eventually go and everyone else will promise to be good boys and let off.
