It'll be a great coup if you get him. It's fine these managers going to clubs with limitless pots of money but let's see what looks like a good manager work at a club with less funds ... And take them somewhere. It's gonna be great seeing how he gets on.

If Mourinho is THAT special, send him to the Stadium of Light and get them into the top four ... Then I'll believe his bks ...
B.Dortmund was and isn't a club with unlimited funds. When Klopp tookover, the club just narrowaly escaped bankrupcy 1 or 2 year before his arrival.

Then again; in the Bundesliga Bayern is king, the TV righs money isn't like that of the PL and their are no Arab, US or other Billionaire owners funding the clubs (although Bayern and Wolfsburg do receive lots of money from their sponsors). So Dortmund does not have to compete with suchs clubs domestically.

So he still hasn't signed? To read the Telegraph you'd think he was already in the dressing room giving a pep talk and explaining heavy metal football to Emre Can.

I was thinking Pep, but not sure if he was a 'Legend' at Barca.

I think in summary there aren't many around!
Instead of working I've been looking at this - very productive

So far

Franz Beckenbauer at Munich (he won the league as manager, but doesn't seem to have been around long)
Ancelotti won the European Cup twice as a player at Milan and twice as a manger so I suppose he definitely qualifies.

It's pretty slim pickings.
I think Beckenbauer wins for legendary status. European Cup winning captain for Munich & wins league and Uefa Cup as coach. Plus Euro Champs and World Cup winning national team captain and WC winning national coach.

Hard to beat that!

From the BBC, Phil McNulty:

Phil said:
Liverpool assistant manager Sean O'Driscoll and first team backroom staff members Glen Driscoll and Chris Davies will leave the club as they prepare to formally announce the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as manager.

Gary McAllister, who joined sacked manager Brendan Rodgers' backroom team along with O'Driscoll in the summer, has been offered another role not involving first-team duties which he is currently considering. Former Liverpool star McAllister was told the news this morning but still took training afterwards.

McAllister and former England under-19 coach O'Driscoll replaced Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh, who were both sacked after a summer review of Liverpool's management team.

Liverpool coach Pep Ljinders is currently in charge of first team duties until the appointment of Klopp is confirmed.

Klopp seems a very charismatic sort of chap.

I reckon he will abseil down onto the centre circle at Anfield from a helicopter.

His teeth are much better than Brendan's too.

Exciting times for you fella's up there today.

Rolling contracts definitely suggests FSG were very much open to the possibility that they weren't going to be here long - along with BR.

His passion and rapport with the Dortmund fans seems to have been pretty good. Similar to Kenny and Shanks, I would suggest.

maybe there is a final twist?

Ex-Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has issued a bizarre challenge to prospective Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: take over at Sunderland instead.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss has emerged as the big favourite to replace Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, but the Reds aren’t the only Premier League club with a new managerial vacancy.
Speaking on his Kicca account, Redknapp said: ‘Klopp will go in there [Liverpool] and probably finish fourth, they might finish fifth.
‘Put him in at Sunderland now and see if he can do the job there. It would be a different story.’
Sunderland, without a win in their first eight matches, are 19th in the Premier League and lie nine points below Liverpool.
