Would love it if he played half your players out of position, and then subbed your attack with some wing backs at 2-0 down.....

Oh god I miss Brendan.
I am sure Martinez wont though - who knows you guys might actually be able to beat us now the Rodgers curse has gone wink

I don't think that had anything to do with Rodgers - its because of players like Gerrard... he had real heart and love for the team and could motivate. Even when you were losing to real rubbish teams you could always raise your game to beat Everton.

We should have won the other day - only your goal keeper played a blinder -three world class saves that seem to have been forgotten by that deluded Rodgers who thought you'd basically been robbed.... Disappointing result for Everton that day I think, only the gloss of the later sacking distracted from the fact that we really should have done better.

Should we each pick a day in next week, or do you think per hour of Saturday will suffice?

How do you measure that though? It will be very difficult if not nearly impossible to improve on 2nd place in 3 seasons. If the best he does is 3rd or 4th place and a cup or two will that be more success? Not to mention despite all the questions about Rodgers he has the second highest win rate of recent managers. I am happy we have changed managers as I couldn't see Rodgers improving us as nothing he was trying worked, but in terms of stats (apart from cups) Rodgers will not be super easy to beat.
I think its a sign of progress, not only finishing places.

For example BR team was going forward when it finished 2nd, but then it fell apart and he couldn't solve the problems. Election and tactics got lost, form dropped, I couldn't tell you what he was trying to do. Were we playing 2 upfront 3 at the back etc, it got confused. He had lost his way. Also I had grown tired of the side not being able to defend, and despite BR saying lots of work had been done on this, the glass jaw remained. Winning sides don't ship goals for fun, BR always did.

Now if Klopp is building a side and you can see what he is trying to build, fans will be patient and it should lead to good things. If there is a problem and he fixes it, again i will be happy.

For me this season is building, lets see, in and around the top 4 would be good, and maybe a decent cup run, but i know he will need time. The guy shown at his pervious clubs give him time and he brings success
I certainly agree, but If we're getting 3rd or 4th for 2 seasons, perhaps a 5th this year and a cup will it have been an improvement in results over those three years? I too want to see things get better and don't think it would have come with Rodgers, but when it comes to it we're unlikely to improve on the results, apart from potentially on winning cups. The sad truth is if we get a good side together and do very well one season it's likely to lose it's best players the season after to Real/ Bara / PSG, or potentially Man City or Chelsea if they really want to pay over the odds. Which will then affect the next season and make any continuous progress difficult.

He won't though will he, he made it clear that he thought BR was a fraud even when they gave the title away a couple of years ago.

RT ( you may as well just say it ) , has pushed for Klopp for ages & if Klopp does fail i'm sure RT will be the first to hold his hand up & say he got it wrong, which a lot of posters on here seem unable to do after their blinkered view on BR's tenure.

RT has been spot on for ages on here & still some posters have sly little digs at him , some have even flounced . Alright HR byebye

Man up & move on.

I think if Klopp is successful then its less likely good players will be so quick to leave. If he does well with us and we're seen to be going places (hey, we can dream) he WILL attract better players to come here. And if by some miracle we turn into a top 3 club and competing in Europe and for trophies, there's more chance of players staying. IMO anyway. There will be ones who go - maybe Coutinho has harboured ambitions of Spain - but they're less likely to go quickly if we're successful.

Problem is we are a selling club at the right price. Generally we get a very good price, but we have shown we are still willing to sell our best players.

Real shame for the lad. Hope he comes back stronger and more determined than ever.

That IS a shame. Anterior cruciate I always remember as the "Gazza" injury. I know surgery has moved on since but still a serious one.

To an extent, that's always been the case though...right back to keegan and souness. I think it will happen less than it has in the last few years, if we're going in the right direction.

Not many clubs that aren't selling clubs now.
