Perhaps the agent will come out grovelling it was a misquoted interview. Clever how dont appear in front of a TV camera when such a story emerges. Perhaps it was lost in translation.... oh wait!

James Pearce: Sterling can put in a transfer request, but he won't leave unless there's a bid the club believe reflects his value.

The yanks will not let this lad go cheap im telling you - I get the impression they would rather sit him in the ressies than sell for 30m -

As has been said already (by you, me and others); FSG aren't mugs and are shrewd operators. They showed it in dealing with Suarez - Sterling is far below Suarez in a pecking order. Where they've made mistakes (transfer committee, keeping Dalglish longer than they should, really) they at least looking to change things.

Well it's a great way to force the clubs hand, Sterling leaves for a big pay day and the agent makes a fortune.

Only just catching up with this... hilarious... Ward might want to avoid any trips to Liverpool for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully Sterling can now see what a complete he's hired as an agent.

This whole incident shows why agents are held in such contempt. Estate agents, recruitment agents, football agents. All cut from the same cloth and all simply trying to line their own pockets rather than what is actually in the best interests of their client. Not all are the same of course but the majority are a pathetic species.

Maybe it isn't the money Sterling is interested in and genuinely would enjoy Chelsea more at half the wages and I'm doing him a disservice.
There was some hints from Ben Smith (BBC Guy) that if Rodgers were not in charge he would be more inclined to sign. Also at his age and level I'd be surprised if he got more than say 150k from even Chelsea or Citeh so not sure its 100% about the money.

I wonder if there's ever been a case where a player's agent has come out and insulted someone associated with the club quite like he has today. If Sterling had any sense he'd be sacking him by this evening (although I dare say, a shark like this has got him under a water tight contract). Oh to be a fly on the wall at the club today.
