I remember how when Owen was breaking into the team and the management kept saying "we must protect him from playing too much as there's a big risk of injuries playing at some a young age". And then proceeded to do the opposite, as frankly, we needed his goals. You could easily argue it ruined him - he had "shin splints" more than once I think. And he always seemed to take a while to get match fit again, even when he came back into the team.

question - clubs have player insurance but is this only for loss of value should a player get badly injured and have to retire, or does it cover the wages of players who get injuries and can't play?

Could be this season's Carroll. OR...he could be the new Ian Wright. He's quite something at the minute.

By beating the Swans by 3 clear goals? At Anfield? I would bet on the answer being NO to that... I just have fingers crossed for continuing signs of improvement and a win.

I'd rather have Mahrez. He is top quality and exactly the kind of player I think our team is missing. Drives the side forward from midfield, has frightening pace and dare I say it, scores goals too.

Todays starting 11. Mignolet, Skrtl, Lovren, Clyne, Moreno, Allen, Can, Milner, Ibe, Lallana, Benteke.

Indeed it doesn't - I must need my eyes testing - I thought Palace were on 23, not 22. A win will be fine then please

Where have all the Allen haters gone?!

Interesting to see him in the squad again.

Makes me nervous without Firm and Cout.

This'll be a good game today - Swansea aren't a bad side at all and Liverpool have a couple of players out, I think they'll clinch it though, I may just head to the boozer for a few pints whilst it is on smile

A few other games playing today that have teams sitting mid table, it's tight on points too - all to play for.

To the local licensed establishment! beer

He really needs to start showing what he can do, we really need him to break up Swansea's play today and turn defence into attack - maybe even help out a bit more further up the field with Coutinho AND Firmino out!

I do look at that team line-up and wince slightly at the lack of creativity that Couts and Firmino provide. I do expect us to just edge this one though.

Allen's not playing though, Firmino is.

Rarely are these ITK teams correct several hours before kick off.

There was a twitter account that used to get them spot on every time, but he's been wrong more times than not lately (since we installed big privacy nets at Melwood funnily enough).
