Chelsea's shocking season has definitely opened things up at the top. Arsenal and Man City have to be nailed on Top 4, then you can pick any two from Man Utd, Spurs or Liverpool to make up the other two spots. And, with the way the league is, I'd still say it's tough to pick out the champions at this stage.

I think it'll ultimately come down to injuries, especially with ManC and Arsenal. Injuries to Aguero, Yaya or Silva and I wouldn't bet on ManC being nailed on for top 2, same with Arsenal and Alexis, Ozil, Cech. Hell, even a long term injury to de Gea and I think Utd would start dropping a few more points. In the same vein, if we can keep Sturridge, Henders, Coutinho all injury free, then who knows...

Klopp publicly backs Mignolet as his no.1, which is good to see. Mignolet has been great IMO over the last few months and the second half of last season. Still can't kick a ball for toffee but still, has been very solid.

"I have had a lot of goalkeepers in the last few years and he is one of the smartest I've ever had," added Klopp.
"He is completely open. He's young enough to develop, to improve. He had not the most easy situation before I came here but since I am here there is nothing to criticise, absolutely nothing."

Its not a question of talent with SM, its concentration - if he can get the right he can be as good as anyone .. at the moment you still think there is a mistake on its way, but I do believe with training it could be corrected...
I agree, but he also needs to learn to be more commanding still. There was a point in the Swansea game where Swansea tried a through ball and Lovren hurriedly made a clearance that I think went out to a throwing. The commentator made the point that Mignolet can see everything in front of him, he knew there was no one around Lovren and should have given him a shout to let it run through so Mignolet could either collect it or let it out for a goal kick - but instead he did nothing.
I rarely get the feeling that the defence and Mignolet work together as a (sub)team.

I dont think there is a keeper in the prem I dont see miss a cross - they all do it, its his decision making with his feet that worries me more, but tbh like Klopp says a lot of that blame can also be passed onto the outfield players....There was a point in the Swansea game where Swansea tried a through ball and Lovren hurriedly made a clearance that I think went out to a throwing. At this minute in time I would not make any drastic decisions about any player, Klopp is one of very few managers who like to improve players rather than just buy new... what he has done to Moreno,Cann,Sakho, Lovren, Ibe has been fantastic... Also after hearing him today a GK is last on his mind...
He definitely transfers some of the nervousness to the defence. I agree, he is not commanding at all and that is not something I think can you train someone to be. You either have that in you or you don't. His kicking has to improve for sure and I think that can be coached. All that being said, he still has been excellent.

This is why fans love Klopp. He thinks like a fan and acts like one too, when he is jumping up and down on the touchline. I too am not over the Palace defeat but knowing he isn't either makes me feel better.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
