the game was live on the bbc last night what more do you want?
The press coverage has been poor though, and most of the games have been on the red button or website. That would never happen with the men's game. The timezone doesn't really help though.

I would have watched it but I wasn't staying up to 2:30am. That and the screamy/shouty commentators have really put me off. The bloke the BBC are using is terrible and the women footballer expert summariser sounds like a female version of Ian Wright, I'm no snob but listening to her is makes my teeth grate!

We're in the semi finals of the World Cup, if it were the Men's team the press would be going mental
Exactly. This is only the third time an English team has reached a semi final of a World Cup. The press seem more concerend with the usual transfer window same old same old. Bonkers.I found this little titbit from an article interesting:
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/28/en...
From Chelsea’s Claire Rafferty, who works as an analyst for Deutsche Bank, to Katie Chapman, a mother of three, and Eniola Aluko, taking a sabbatical from her career as a lawyer to turn professional, they appear to peaking in perfect synchronicity.
That's dedication.
Another interesting bit:
“England women doing the country proud. Huge congratulations on reaching the semi finals,” wrote the captain of the men’s team, Wayne Rooney – who earns £300,000 a week, compared to the women’s captain Steph Houghton’s £35,000 a year.

Are we allowed to compare the men's and women's games now?
When they have anywhere near the same levels of funding, training and opportunity, then yes. However I think the women's game will always be different to the men's style wise.Anyway, Germany vs USA tonight. 1st in the world against 2nd in the world. Should be good.

So you can't compare football league with non-league football?
Of course you can - but you do it in the knowledge that one has much better access to financial backing than the other, with everything that entails. Wayne Rooney earns more in a year from his basic wage than the FA gives to the entirety of women's football. So saying that the players are not as good as the premier league (and I suggest you go watch the USA vs Germany game from last night) is a tad unfair.
As noted before, a large proportion of the teams who entered still have part timers playing for them. A lot of them come from countries where up until recently women were banned from playing football.
In light of that I think they are doing a damn good job.
I don't really need telling what to watch, I've watched some of the games - although not as avidly as you I was simply picking up on the rationale behind your statement. Some premier league games are crap and some non-league games are good, nothing to do with the gender of the players so I will continue to say when a ladies game is good or crap. I don't believe funding has anything to do with my enjoyment of a game.
p.s. you may be picking on the wrong person because I've never mentioned Rooney. Previously I simply said that I have enjoyed non-league football because of the aggression shown...
