I'll say one think it certainly doesn't feel like we are being outplayed, which is good.

Silly tackle when you're on a yellow.

Hate to say it but judging by this game the USA are going to tonk whoever plays them.
I just hope it's England.

What an awful way to go out. I thought weer more than matched them in that game, we played really well.

FFS.

What an awful way to go out. Got to feel sorry for Laura Bassett. Played her heart out & then that.......

Jeez. Gutted for the team. They didn't deserve that.

Pretty much the last kick of the game too.
I thought we had a decent chance of winning that then. How gutting for them.

Football (sport) can be very cruel at times.

Might sound churlish complaining about him after such a great run to the semi's but Jonathan Pearce excelled himself again last night with his squawking delivery again.

Didn't even call the goal correctly, declaring that it was cleared away before correcting himself saying the ref had given it. A truly awful commentator.

Finishing on a positive, the girls did so well and can come back knowing they've given 100%. clap

I really thought that it'd go to extra time and the England girls would sneak it then. They had been in the ascendancy for the latter part of the second half and were looking the better side.

It's a funny old game, Saint..........

On a positive note, we got to the Semi's, which is more than 28 (?) of the other teams managed.

My money's on the USA I think, I was watching them going through their training routine last week, they're more like professional (dare I say Premiership? Obviously not as good) footballers in the way that they practice, compared to most of the other teams I saw. Their goalie's quite formidable too.

Ah well, at least she'll be able to make a few quid before slipping away, not to be heard about, until the next WC when the TV guys show some women's football.

Cruel result, only consolation was if she hadnt got to it and tried to clear it, Japan would have definitely scored anyway.

Well done ladies on getting to semi final.

Japan certainly seem inspired by tiki taka.
Is he their manager?

Very unlucky to lose that match, we were by miles the better side. Bassett could make that interception another 1000 times in her career and it would never loop in off the bar like that. Unfortunate in the extreme.

I love how everyone seems to be conveniently ignoring the dive for the penalty. Such hypocrisy by the media.

Agreed. Totally let herself and the team down IMO. Wholly embarrassing.

Yep. Was recently arrested for domestic violence and also a victim of the phone hacking, which certainly showed a different view of her.
Wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her, she certainly commands her area. Probably the best goalie out there.
