Liverpool - 55,000 managers at every home game and several million on online forums. Every single one of them seems to know bett than whoever' s in charge.

They're not always wrong to be fair.... hehe
Sounds like every football fan and forum ever, and long may the debate and argument continue - otherwise we wouldn't all be here every day beer

First two games are against Liverpool and the reigning champions would it of been a good idea to get any new signings in before the season started????
I say that every year.

Our transfer business should be completed ideally in the early days of pre-season training to allow us to prepare the team properly for the start of the campaign.

I can not see for the life of me why the Mustafi & Lucas deals couldn't have been done a month ago. Stop fking about an dithering in the transfer market; identify the target, make a credible and fair bid , negotiate with club and player , conclude the deal. Instead we fk about making ludicrous and embarrassing offers , dither a bit more and then panic at the end of August.

Have to agree here.

If Arsenal lose tomorrow & United, Chelsea & City win that will be 8 points adrift , i reckon that would put paid to any title dreams.

Surely top teams have to be prepared from day 1 not day 21.
Because no team has ever made up a 8 point deficit with 36 games left and 108 points to play for?

No, but it's a poor position to be in after two games when let's be frank, results from yet again very poor planning and preparation over the summer. Lucas could have been signed in June and his clause would have been the same, and if he was really keen on Mustafi I don't understand why he wasn't snapped up before the Euros.

Have you seen United & City play this season yet ?

Pogba is a beast of a player & i reckon a few more may be brought in come Tuesday .

Well we know Wenger is a lot of things but thick is not one of them so to me it reaffirms my belief that Wenger is paid a huge salary on the condition he gets Arsenal into the Champions League with minimum outlay, he saw that might be in jeopardy from the first two games and took action.
Anyone with a proper intent on winning things would of done these signings before the season started along with top signings.
Kroenke and Wenger are both as bad as each other.

Wenger has sent one of the most attack-minded and 'gives his all' players we've seen at the club in recent years, Joel Campbell, on a season-long long to Sporting, and has kept the one-good-game-in-seven, one-trick pony, Theo Walcott instead.

Just let that one sink in for a minute.

It re-affirms he utter incompetence.

The club is a laughing stock now because we're now being accussed of panic buying. I'm sure Lucas is a talented player, if we'd bought him in June/July and he'd had a pre-season and possible would have got a goal or two and people perhaps would have said it's a shrewd bit of business. Now because we've embarrassed ourselves with our management of the pursuit of Vardy and Lacarzette we just look desperate!

For me it's the fact that you've spent 100 m in this window (or will have) and you've not bought top top quality.

Surely it would have been worth it to just pay 60-70 mil on that difference maker.

Is Pérez really the striker to solve Arsenal's problems? He's 28 in a couple of weeks, has had one decent season in top flight football in his whole career and has never been anywhere near the national side. Oh well I suppose time will tell.

A good win today to kickstart the season though.

I don't think we had the budget to buy "top, top quality" in one position and fill the three gaps that had to be filled. As it is Perez may have been a "compromise". We absolutely needed a CB, CM and a Striker for once we have all three (which is a rarity).

Xhaka looks a great player, Holding looks like a ludicrous bargain, let's see how Musrafi and Perez do.

Budget for a big hitter aside, I don't think anyone was available, and even if a load of money was thrown at the likes of Benzema, Lewandowski, Higuain etc., I don't think Arsenal would have been in their immediate career path given the clubs they're currently at.

Would you guys have thought £75m for Higuain would have been worth it?

I want Wenger to go shopping in Marks and Spencer rather than Aldi all the time!!
Not over convinced what I saw today, We started off well like we always do and for a change got the three goals but Watford were on par with us in the second half.

When the very best players are now costing £75m - £90m then no we haven't bought top quality. However, I'm hoping the two players are going to develop that way. The other aspect is how many world class players have really been available this summer in the positions we needed to strengthen?

Hummed at Centre Half, Higuian at Centre Forward, Pogba in Midfield? Not many really.

I'm not trying to suggest a Pogba v Xhaka 'who is best' comparison, but you only have to look at their respective prices.

Nope.

He's 29 years old.....so you might get three years out of him at the very top level. Pogba is 23 isn't he ? Pogba's "cheap" in comparison. Higuain is basically costing Juve 30 mil a year which is utterly mental.

Lewandowski, Griezmann or Aubameyang for that money ? Yup!

Griezmann was the one i hoped we'd get after his performances in the euros. Reports this morning that Wenger was in for him but he didnt want to leave Spain, for that read Wenger offered £2.50 and a box of cheesy puffs hehe
