Hmmmmmm........
With Liverpool's remarkable come back tonight, and City's advance to the last 4 of the CL......the prospect of no CL for us next year looms ever larger on the horizon, if as it would seem likely now that Spuds and Leicester finish 1-2 in the PL....as if that happens and Liverpool win the EC and City win CL.....no CL for us even if we finish 3rd!
I thought Liverpool (or any team) winning the EC had no bearing on the amount of CL places. So would go to 4 still (unless MC win and come fifth)With Liverpool's remarkable come back tonight, and City's advance to the last 4 of the CL......the prospect of no CL for us next year looms ever larger on the horizon, if as it would seem likely now that Spuds and Leicester finish 1-2 in the PL....as if that happens and Liverpool win the EC and City win CL.....no CL for us even if we finish 3rd!

CL Qualification Rules
A national league can have a maximum of 5 entries into the CL
The EC winner gets a place in CL
The CL winner gets a place in CL
The top 4 places get a place in CL
So if both Man C and Liverpool win, and are not in the top 4, then it will break the max figure of 5 allowed teams in one nation. So only the top 3 league positions will be taken into account.
If only one of either Man C or Liverpool win, then it will be top 4 regardless of where any of them finish in the league.
So if Man C win CL and finish 5th, Liverpool don't win EL and West Hsm finish 4th - then West Ham will be in CL and Man C will be 5th team entered.

It's not quantity that's needed; a DM and a striker surely?!
Besides, buying in a tonne of players rarely brings quick success.
I would start with bringing in a CH, then a striker. As much as I'm beginning to like the look of Elneny and Coquelin, I don't think either are what we need overall. Besides, buying in a tonne of players rarely brings quick success.
In fact, I think the squad we have is capable of achieving more (providing they all remain fit and available for most of the season) so I would agree with not bringing in any more than a couple of players.
We're desperate for leadership on and off the pitch IMO.
I don't think you necessarily need a leader on AND off the pitch, but it definitely needs to be one or the other. Looking at Tottenham they don't really have a leader on the pitch, but they work incredibly well as a team and Poch clearly has them well drilled. Same with Liverpool on Thursday, I wouldn't say we have any leaders on the pitch either, but Klopp is definitely our leader from the sidelines.

Someone to steer/guide/shout/lead on the pitch. Someone who will show strength of leadership off it, giving a confident display of his convictions (as well as the balls to be honest in his misgivings) instead of arrogant, contrived and delusional bullcrap.

A few days ago he was blaming the stadium ("I had to fight for every pound") - I wonder what his excuse is now.Arsène Wenger: West Ham have ‘won the lottery’ with Olympic Stadium
Guardian said:
West Ham agreed to pay a one-off fee of £15m towards the Olympic Stadium conversion costs and a rent of around £2.5m a year. “I say to West Ham: ‘Well done. You have won in the lottery and you do not need to sweat like I did for long years, and fight for every pound’,” Wenger said, before Arsenal’s game against West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday lunchtime. “So it’s very well done.
“They have made a good deal, they have negotiated very well. It was a fight with Tottenham [for the Olympic Stadium]. For me, it is similar to the Man City situation [when they were granted the Commonwealth Games stadium in 2003]. Man City got a new stadium for £20m, basically.”

i'd say 'unbelievable', but sadly its all too familiar.
No high tempo, few 'proper' attempts, shedloads of possession but unable to break down a deep sitting team and yet another soft goal conceded. Ticket holders must be wondering about their annual 'investment' in their choice of entertainment!

Are your surprised?Wenger and he cronies have destroyed this club. It's not worth bothering with at the moment to be honest. We're static. Not going forwards and not really going backwards (yet)
Thank god for my love of the non-league game, that's where I'm getting my enjoyment. My club is in a relation battle but it's still far more enjoyable than been robbed and conned by Arsenal.
