Pleased to see us getting some business done early. Hope it's not like with Cech last year where Wenger got our hopes up before signing nobody else!

So what does everyone think about the appointment of Maureen at the plastic Mancs ?
I don't think a club and a manager could suit each other more, and not in a good way either wink

Most competitive league in the world right now based on the managers listed. Will be very interested to see how Leicester do next year as well.

It's going to be weird seeing Moaninho at United. I personally can't stand the guy. I do like a read of Redcafe.com for sts and giggles now and again and it cracks me up how much they slated him when he was at Chelsea but now he's on the verge of managing them he's the next messiah.

The thing is with Mourinho he's never a long term solution and always two years away from a mental breakdown but maybe at untitled that will he different wits the type of owners they have. Also how long will they put up with his style of play?

Well, that is the quality of signing we need. Possibly we may have signed the quality midfielder we've needed for a number of years.

However, we MUST go out and get 2 new strikers and a centre half. Who I'm not sure but that's what we need. We need strikers who have a killer instinct, great awareness and mobility. Unfortunately, Giroud is not good enough, he's frankly woeful and sadly Welbeck is going to be out until next year so we must bring in two forwards.

We need a player to play alongside Koscielny, I can't be having Mertesacker as our main centre half for another season, he's a rich mans Igors Stepanovs!

The following players can go;

Walcott
Giroud
Flamini
Arteta
Jenkinson
Debuchy
Szczesny

However, all the above may be academic with Wenger in charge I fear.

Flamini and Arteta (as well as Rosicky) are all gone.

Arteta was in tears at the end of the last game at Emirates (I think it was his last game full stop, and he may well have retired?)
I've seen a rumour (can't remember where though) that Pep want him at City as a coach...?

And Cech has been given Szczeny's Number 1 shirt which amy tell you something.

However the real fking mystery is Flamini....he's not been mentioned anywhere official as having left the club and you can buy his shirt in next year's kit on Arsenal.com....unlike Arteta and Rosicky who have been removed.

I think a month ago Walcott's Arsenal career was toast but with Welbeck out for the season he might get a reprieve.....

It's just not even possible we won't sign a striker. Surely.

That's true, but I remember reading somewhere (may have been BBC webiste?) that Flamini had been told he was 'gone'.....was back in late March/early April...??
But, yes, he was conspicuous by his absence at last match....??

I wouldnt be surprised if they keep him as "experienced" backup. Only to be rolled out mid season once Granit, Elneny and Coqeauvin are all crocked in true Arse style. biggrin Wenger likes continuety and losing three experienced mids in one season is not his style.

Or keep him as a team motivator. He seems to be the only one in the setup who has a voice.

Times are reporting Ozil has put off contract talks with us for a second time saying he does not want to enter negotiations until after Euro 2016.

That Rosicky chap playing for Czech Republic looks pretty handy, maybe Wenger should take a look? scratchchingetmecoat

In all seriousness it was great to see him score a very good goal against Russia last night, easily my favourite Arsenal player of the last decade in terms of the way he plays the game. Managed to combine the effortless ability that made him look like a ridiculously talented school-kid having a kick about, with an exceptional work rate both offensively & defensively. All topped off with the ability to produce sublime pieces of skill, score great goals, and always showing an absolute ton of passion for the club.

Such a shame that injuries prevented us seeing more of him during his time at the club. frown
