We've decided not to go - one of the main reasons for going was that the wife always had a crush on Bergkamp (I know).

Managed to get a refund on the tickets, will watch it on ITV4 instead

I think he's been a bit unfairly represented recently and definitely the media are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill with regards to problems between him and Klopp. For me Sturridge's only issue is his injury record.
He does come across as a sulky Princess.

To be fair JB, i don't think anybody other than Liverpool fans give two hoots about him.

Life could be a lot worse. We could be debating spending £30mil on Sissoko.....who'd spent the summer prostrating himself to Spurs biggrin
Saving this one, you never know.

Going to the legends game on the weekend and just read that Henry and Bergkamp have pulled out. Henry, although disappointing, I can understand in a way with his new Belgium commitments, but seriously gutted about Bergkamp not being there!! frown Anyone else going to this
Really annoyed by this, but at least Pascal Cygan will be there instead.............................
Great. What about my favorites; Glen Helder, Martin Hayes and Igors Stepanovs?
Glenn Helder, talented footballer.

Saw him in I think it was the late nineties. Next to his Bordeaux/cream leather interior equipped BMW 850i on English plates in an Amsterdam underground car park not far from a casino. He behaved a bit unsettled, his car was full of trash, looked liked he been living in it for quite a while.

Years later the media found out he was a compulsive gambler, seems to happen to a lot of (English) players after their career ended, either addicted to booze, drugs, gambling or a combination. Fortunately he got his life back on track a number of years ago, even wrote a book about it.

And what a difference; Bergkamp left Arsenal with a tremendous amount of wealth (50m plus), Helder a couple of years later had nothing left.

Yes, I enjoyed the game in the end, even if Messrs Henry and Bergkamp were conspicuous by their absence! Ljungberg, Gilberto, hoyte and Kanu stood out for me with Pires getting his goal which was a deserved reward for his efforts. Took lots of pics so will post up a selection when I have sorted through them all! smile

It was a better spectacle than I thought it was going to be! Great atmosphere and good to see so many great names (especially from AC Milan). Kanu looks like he could still play! His header was pure quality.

They should avoid shots from distance though! Those ageing legs just don't have the power.

Sounds like it may be an annual event.

There has to be something in the continual and persistant rumours and stories in the papers about Eddie Howe replacing AW at the end of the season (with AW moving upstairs).

Jack going to the Cherries on loan maybe more than just a co-incidence.....

I feel it would be a mistake too, after seeing Rodgers tenure at Liverpool. It was a move too soon for him. Though Howe comes across as a bit more likeable.

Not a chance, Eddie has done a fabulous job at Bournemouth but theres no way he's ready for Champions league, needs more experience.

Yeah i agree , i think he needs a few years yet, I feel this is just a smokescreen softening the blow from Arsenal saying that Jack has no future at Arsenal.

Not just the fans.......what about keeping sponsors on board, and would Silent Stan have even heard of Eddie Howe or even know where Bournemouth is......hehe

The only way Eddie Howe gets the job is if he's coming in as a Wenger protege with Wenger still involved in some form,

Can I see the club doing that? Possibly. They absolutely don't want to do what Man U did and can't afford to spend their way out of it like Man U did either. The idea of some kind of gradual transition will massively appeal to Kronke I reckon.

Poor old Alfa would have a coronary if that happened!

Talking of Alfa, Amt Lawrence has a new book out. Xmas list sorted

I did find it amusing when people started chanting that, it was a good atmosphere.

I was also disappointed by the lack of Tierry & Dennis. That said those that did play put in a cracking effort, it was a shame seeing Overmars pull up after darting into the penalty area after skinning two defenders. Winterburn works bloody hard, I think after the game he said he still plays for his local team twice a week. Seamen, safe hands, made a couple of fairly spectacular saves.

The back four looked proper solid, can't recall the last time I said thatlaugh

Anyhow, is anyone else surprised by "the best striker in the world" moving to Forest? Will he crack it in Championship!

I was more amused that the main Arsenal Facebook feed covered it and refered to him as Lord Bendtner laugh
