As I said in a post towards the end of last season.....I will be surprised if either of them are still with us after end of this season.

Pleasantly surprised of course, but nonetheless, still surprised.

Can you blame them? With Rooney et al on god knows how much, both of them are head and shoulders better than him.
No , not really but it would go against all the ways that Arsenal are run.

Maybe i'm just being old fashioned thinking that there should be a more level playing field & that Arsenal really are the role model of how a football club should be run.

I'd also be as bold to say that Rooney sells more than these two put together globally .

Indeed. With all the money flooding into the Premier League now it's only fair that the stars should ask for their fare share for making the league popular around the World. I'm sure the directors and shareholders are getting their share!

God forbid the fans get any share though!!!

£250k a week ? Benchmarked off Rooney at £260k a week doesn't look wrong does it....even Rooney of three years ago.

How they let themselves get into a situation where both the world class players in the side are on contracts with 18 months left is beyond me....and you'd think they'd make sure that these key players aren't on contracts that expire at the same time!

Don't think they have much choice.....

Very unlikely sir. I Think our highest earner is on around £90k a week.

Not sure these two have the right attitude & show the right commitment for what our young manager wants.

You keep them.

Been watching the Holland France game, Koscielny has been fking immense. He's rapidly turning into one of our best ever buys. The french have two centre backs on the field, dont think the other one has touched the ball defensively hehe

Dear Arsenal fans, Man Utd fan here, I've just had the pleasure of walking into my hotel room in India, switched the TV on just in time to see Ozil's goal.
Beautiful.

What ever he wants paying we just have to let him have it. What a player!

It was a thing of beauty. Rumour is new contract is going to be signed soon.

League table looks okay...sounds like we were lucky to hang on.

Xhaka should have his red card overturned on appeal - it was very harsh.

A stunning goal by Ozil (and a great pass by Sanchez) but how the hell did Theo not get his hat trick?

Apparently if you commit a foul with no chance of getting the ball its a red card under this year's rules. If that's the case I don't have a problem....as long as that's reflected throughout the season!

At 2-0 up, we got a bit complacent; Xhaka dithered and gifted them a goal. At 3-1 we were still hanging on. It was also a very sloppy second goal to concede too.

We did well - just about - to hang on in the end but the five goals score in the game should have been mostly for Walcott.

If those are the new rules, then Arsene wants reminding of them. It was more cynical than dirty ...

Yeah he should have had 5. But I'm not going to complain with two. He has been excellent and his new work rate is encouraging. Long may it continue.
