often though that myself. So many of the rules could be brought across, yardage gain or free kicks more often for hassling a ref etc etc
Just a totally different mindset isn't it. Rugby is by no means perfect but the situation surrounding referees is much better.

Played on Saturday. Ref said before the game "If you mouth off at me I will penalise you. Any questions come through your captain, and if you approach me with your captain with a question I will happily speak to you. Anything other than that you're risking an early bath. Are we clear?"

I often wonder what you have to say to get sent off for foul and abusive language in football, based upon the lip reading that I have done when watching
American Football is the same as well, seems more contact a sport has the more the refs are respected
Absolutely. It would be easy to implement something like that rugby ref and i am sure the FA are aware that is the way they handle it.

Unless the FA love the drama of it all i guess. The problem is the lower leagues, people and kids think it is acceptable.

Wenger criticising Xhaka for his "lack of control." hehe
It was a bad tackle, the sort of reckless tackle Paul Scholes use to make.
No doubt. I was being ironic though. Pointing out the obvious that Wenger too "lost control". Of course he has rightly apologised and will probably accept his punishment. It was just a bit of banter that's all.

It's all very bizarre - a white bloke is taken to the police station because he called a white lady a "fking white bh". Oh well at least he didn't try and two-foot the poor lady.

Only a four game touchline ban for that vicious assault on the 4th official seems pretty light to me.

Nice comfortable win against Southampton although its a shame to see so many PL teams putting out weak teams (totally understandable in their case given midweek exertions). Sanchez will no doubt be thrashing himself because he didn't get on the score sheet when he came on....wtf he did so is another matter.....

Was mighty impressed with the two youngsters in midfield today and Ox doing his best Ozil impression spraying it about, Southampton were woeful though. Good to see Danny back and Walcott showing his old club what he can do.

No wonder spurts had to bring out their big hitters to deal with the mighty Wycombe Wanderers.

Prefer Sutton to Lincoln - that northern lot look far too good.

I thought the lower leagues/amateurs where much more respectable to the refs? (i dont follow lower league or amateur so wouldnt know)

But if they start cracking down on it at high level, the kids (who, lets face it are the ones to aim at) will have a change and its become 'acceptable' (like how drink driving was 'dismissed' but over time its a taboo subject)

Only issue with Sutton is that pitch.

Maybe play the youth team against them, those players may have much more recent experience of playing on those pitches?
