So, I was watching the post match analysis with Ferdinand known etc and it dawned on me,
If you took the score line tags off the screen, and they didn't refer to names and goalscorers, you would be hard pushed to know which year that was.
Really, you could have just replayed any of the last five or six.
I can't abide Ferdinand, but in fairness to him, he "just" fell short of saying " I'm just repeating myself, it's a joke"

Cos it is.
I don't want to turn my phone on, much less go to work today !!!

It's only 5-1.

We still have a chance.
Especially at the fortress that is the Effeminates.

Taking nothing away from Bayern; they were great. They were so good, they made us look st. They must have been watching our games against Burnley, Swansea, Southampton etc.
Don't worry it'll be the same level of preparation that Watner put in on Bayern. I was so taken aback when Robben cut inside and bent that one into the roof of the net for the 1st .....
That is rather unfair. Every top level defender that has faced him, for years, has known he's going to do that.

Very, very few of them manage to stop him though.

I think this'll be the 7th year running you'll go out in the round of 16. You are nothing if not consistent!

Actually, heard on the radio Arsenal are 100/1 to go thru over 2 legs. I might have a fiver on that. It's the kind of crazy thing you lot would do, after losing to Sutton!

gosh even the delusional gooners (yes the ones on here that were so offended the last time i said that when you couldn't even read your own clubs balance sheet properly but bought into the poverty story none the less) must now have given up on AW defense ?

how the club has wasted 5 years keeping that dinosaur on and how much managerial talent has passed because hes refused to move over gracefully.

anjoy afc boys! its a club in his image, quiet, obedient, subservient, zero mental strength when it counts and run by clowns. arguably its supported by clowns too as they pay their hard earned sit quietly and put up with that nonsense. frankly i would rather be watching barnet until AW leaves!

at least the managers / players actually give a crap over and above a ramsey or giroud facial haircut.

Before Kos went off they were organised. Why is it they are so dependant on one player? Why didn't they just park the bus and protect the draw with and away goal. I'm hardly surprised either and most of us probably thought we'd be out when the draw was made but the score at half time gave some hope which made the capitulation worse than last year.

I really hope Wenger doesn't get sacked and chooses to retire at the end of the season.

Wenger has to leave at the end of the season surely. This is the most vocal it's been about him leaving, even pundits and ex players can't defend him now. He was getting slaughtered on TalkSport earlier.

I don't think it's even the fact it was a defeat, more the humiliating way it happened. They made Robben look 25 again.

A finish outside the top 4 this year could do the club some good, as they would have to act, but as a Spurs fan I hope Wenger stays for entertainment value.

As a Chelsea fan I've agreed with this sentiment for the last 10 years but it's reached the point where the humiliation of your opponent has reached the tipping point.

Wenger looks like a character from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where his face and hair is visibly decaying during the interview.

He needs relieving from his post.

He's been there for so long it's made him impossible to depose.

Wenger is like the really old appliance at home that still works, could be replaced with something better but you feel bad because it's lasted so long.

There's no danger he'll be sacked but he should be told in terms it would be difficult to ignore it would be best if he resigned at the end of the season. Told now, that is. They need to get someone else in position as Utd did with Maureen.

I have no idea who though.

His current contract expires at the end of this season, so they don't actually have to tell him to resign, or even sack him.
All they need to do is withdraw the current 2 year contract extension that is still on offer. Which is the problem, as there is clearly no Plan B as they are saying the offer is still on the table, and he's going to make a decision at the end of the season....banghead
That's too late, but typical of this board.

A second humiliation in a week at the hands of Sutton on Monday, followed by a poor result at Anfield the weekend before the 2nd leg against BM, and the pressure will mount I think.
Still not sure the board have a clue though.....and as for Silent Stan.......

Ah, I'd forgotten his contract was up!

Yes, withdraw the offer of the extension - and quick. I wouldn't say it's got to Cloughie proportions yet - you're not going down etc and 20 years on football is completely different ... but there must be some parallels that can be drawn somewhere.

The board have a very good clue. It's called "making money". Top 4 = CL = Kerching = Wenger stays. None of the defeats or performances make any difference to that equation.

Indeed.

As a fan, I'm sitting here hoping for a drubbing by Sutton, a drubbing at Anfield before the 2nd leg with BM, and pitiful end to the season performance leading to 6th or even 7th place in the PL and no CL next season.
Its a shame that you have to think that way as the only thing that might produce a change......preferably lead by the owner flogging his interest in the club to someone that actually gives a fk about winning things again instead of adding to his Texas ranch portfolio.

What I don't understand is Arsenal have been beaten by Bayern so many times, in excruciating ways.

Why did't they go to the Allianz and play defensively? Mourinho would have done it and Conte does it. IMO playing a back 4 with 2 defensive midfielders infront of them and then 4 attacking players isn't enough.

Wing backs Gibbs and Bellarin. Mustafi, Mertesacker and Kosciely as CBs and 2 defensive mids infront of them.

Let Sanchez, Chamberlain and Iwobi chase balls for 70 mins and try and nick a goal and bring on fresh legs.

Bayern were really good. They have it in them. Even if you lot set up defensively they might have still won 5-1 but nothing ventured nothing gained...

While the Emirates is still fairly full, merchandise is selling well and we keep qualifying for the Champions League each season, he wont get the sack.

He might walk if the stress of it gets too much, but he's such a stubborn bstd I can't see it happening.

We just have to bide our time for now..............sad but we are all used to it.

He's never been a tactician though, since the invincibles he's got by with sensational individuals rather than a solid team.

Plan A, followed by other players playing plan A, and repeat.
