Was it an embarrassment? NO.
sorry but got to pick you up on that.

what planet are you living on? or do you just feel comfortable with failure haveing got used to it for so long? is it a case of tunnel vision ?

first of all it was our worst-ever champions League defeat. if that isnt embarrassing i dont know what is. if that is acceptable for a squad of our calibre then frankly as a goooner a pox on your house. lesser teams don’t lose to BM in that way.

wenger didnt change anything when it was going south let alone when we were getting a total hiding. he didnt even get out of his seat with conviction. this demoralises the team. all those 1st team players (like ligue 2’s finest; giroud) know they wont get benched by wenger if they dont give 110pc game in game out. wenger probably told him not to get injured signalling to the team that the job or rather wengers aspirations in the CL were already there... with failure... utterly disgraceful if true, but i can imagine it.

theres lots you can do as a manager to instil belief or to use alternate systems, klopp played 442 against us with a club in crisis and half its players pre sold... and look at the confusion that caused... wenger is probably the most predictable manager in european football because of his sheer arrogance. any manager worth his salt can pick him off and plenty of lesser managers have done so with far, far lesser teams..

indecently the win at home was pure luck.... the writing was SO on the wall then just looking at the 1st half ....

the fact is the team is excellent, certainly good enough NOT to be in this position on the CL or to take a hiding like that.... that to me is embarrassing and unacceptable considering what’s at the managers disposal.

i have always maintained... why pay wengers massive salery if you are satisfied with losing.
It was a poor performance, but put it into perspective, they are probably the best team in the world, we had several key players out and had to chase the game. We could sit there at 1-0 down and hold tight or actually try and get back into the game, that failed and we lost more heavily that if we just accepted a 1 or 2 nil defeat.

And the first game was anything but luck, it was an excellent defensive performance and some good counter attacking. I was there and witnessed it.

You're not the only person on here to suggest some fans are satisfied losing, in fact its' quite the opposite. It seems some of you are actually happy to see us lose as you think it justifies your anti-wenger comments and may bring an end to Wenger's reign.

Supporting Arsenal is very much a roller coaster of good and less good performances, some great wins and some frustrations. But it is always interesting.

Speaking of frustrations, I was at the game yesterday and we were lucky not to concede more. Debuchy was a liability and the sooner Bellerin is back the better. Can't make up my mind on Campbell, there is good player in there but some of his decision making is poor, maybe just lack of experience.

It makes no difference who the opposition is. At home, Bayern are putting four or five past just about everyone.

I think it will come down to whether Munich turn up against the Greeks and how many they put past them. Can still see you going thorugh. You have the quality, do you have the belief?
A tie in CL positions is based on performance against team tied with. So if we win the next one and the Greeks lose, then it will come down to us beating Olympiakos by 2 goals as away goals count double and they have three already!

i would argue the CL table puts 'it' perfectly in perspective not bayerns hiding, that was on the wall and in line. AW's teams always get a hiding at some point against top flight teams. does wonders for morale.

i maintain we don't have a bad squad and as per its under performing relative to the level of quality it has - i refer to the first 30 mins against MUFC. are you suggesting Olympiacos and Dinamo are equal to us or that just bayern are the best team in the world and this is the net result? is it that we don't have a bench to compete with that of the other two lesser teams? this is of course AW's best team hes ever managed... by his own admission. so what is your point?

as for anti wenger comments, the facts are the facts the results the results. we are all entitled to an opinion on a public forum proviso you can justify them. mine is simply based on what the man has had at his disposal, for how long hes had it (players and money) relative to his results (and im not talking property company results here those were undeniably stellar hes an economist not a manager imo). lets not get into the fact that arsenal tkts are a multiple of 10 of consistent 'winners' bayern and barca but choose to horde cash reserves.

fair is fair i would say and at some point you have to be counted.... that's all....

Agent Fabregas is doing his job perfectly. wink

I'd have asked for his signature, you can't blame him for joining Chelskum when Wenger didn't want him.

Incredible player when he was with us. cool

Not trying to be antagonistic as I would rather you lot win the title than some of the alternatives, but one moment yesterday epitomised for me why I question whether you can do it, no matter how well placed.

For the second goal Ozil gave the ball away so cheaply, when a simple back pass was the easy option, instead he loses control, goes down easily and rather than get up and chase he claims (ridiculously) for a foul. Would drive me nuts that.

Flip side is he's just set the new assists record for the Premier League and has the best games per assist record in Premier League history and if you are ever lucky enough to see him live just takes the game to levels that other players can't even think about.

But yes a mistake he made at the weekend led to a goal.

There are times in life when concentrating on the positive is a good thing. Nobody is perfect and Ozil has so many positives he can be forgiven the transgressions.

If that is true, then sadly yes we are fooked. I said at the close of the transfer window that if Coquelin gets injured then we are screwed. Arteta simply not a DM and is WAY off the pace. Relying heavily on Flamini now and with his disciplinary record of picking up yellow cards it is not looking good. Really poor from Wenger and terribly short sighted.
