"Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo, 23, now on loan at Championship side Charlton, touched the ball just 30 times during a six-month loan spell at Ajax"
Seen this little snipet posted on the BBC Footie website 'gossip' page.....I suspect he's not even Championship level material....
He played another 3 matches in the 2nd team, but was a total disappointment. Result; on a 1 year loan deal but sent back after 6 months.Seen this little snipet posted on the BBC Footie website 'gossip' page.....I suspect he's not even Championship level material....
Wenger recommended him to Overmars this past summer, Ajax subsequently hired him unseen(!) after Traore (which is a big talent) was disallowed by Chelsea.
So here we are. starting to loose our lead, now chasing the pack. We have come through a lot of games, luckily, i feel. But, now we have been exposed by not collecting nearly as many points as we should. Leicester have the easier time over the next few months, with no FA Cup or CL to cope with, but defo have the harder games.
We need to beat Spurs.
Leciester HAVE to drop points somewhere along the line.
still think we will do it?
( not 4th...win it)

the pressure of actually winning now subsides.... the pressure of 4th is a completely different level of intensity and the absolute minimum for a team of this caliber and experience - frankly the likes of ozil and sanchez dont need to be told what to do.
(wenger) can deal the pressure of 4th - thats his objective. unless you have a team of born leaders as we did with the invincibles imho its the manager that ultimately gets them over the line 'mentally' to win the marathon. confidence is everything in any industry you care to mention.
i fully expect them to get their form back now they are being written off and the pressure of winning subsides .... cant see them winning it unless they are exceedingly lucky which is possible but then what are we paying wenger for if we rely on lady luck? and its not as if they havent had a st load with no big team turning up to win this epl. how much more do they want?
so wenger signs an unknown from basel in the window who doesn't make the bench. that shows his intent.
next season the big teams will all turn up .... the most frightening thing is, thfc play with more desire and intensity than we do!

Indeed.....I'm getting worried about next season.next season the big teams will all turn up ....
Man City with Pep, Spuds with Pochitino are looking good now, and will be stronger next season I'm sure, Klopp will have settled at Liverpool and could be stronger next season, and if Man U & Chelsea get their acts together as well, we could find ourselves scrapping for Europa league at best if we're not careful.

valid points, that dudes even more one sided than me lol !i think the rub is wenger does deserve respect.
for his faults, hes managed the finances very well, but he has had the benefit of stability that on one else has had ... he did imo (help) revolutionise the english game but ultimately will his legacy reflect that .... or reflect being a bit a failure considering the vast resources at his disposal and his track record of actual winning. history wont remember how many times your club is the 1st of the losers.
frankly i think he created something that out grew his 'ability' 5 to 7 seasons ago. he should have been managing the clubs finances, not the players on the pitch.
but he wont relinquish what he sees as his. do you think hes going to let the new manager blow £150mln on players? sad but probably true.....
shame the club doesn't seem to understand the correlation between winning and merchandising on the bottom line.

I do agree with the point, but spending 10 or even 250 million doesnt mean success......look at utd?
totally agree.... however its clear this team is punching well below its weight and is as it stands easily good enough to win the epl with no one stepping up. bellerin is correct, when the team clicks its untouchable - we have all seen it and not just this season. but its the managers job to get them to do that every match as ranieri has with Leicester. afc are the most attractive and devastating team when they decide to turn up. wengers management system encourages favorites, lacks hard discipline, persists with players that don't perform, has no threat of top flight replacements with non performance, ..... in short has lots of carrot but little stick. the players are 'comfortable'... highlighted by the amount of times i have seen ramsey or giroud smile when they miss an open goal again and again. do you remember th14 , rvp or db10 smiling like that? most damaging thing is they psychologically know the only real target is CL qualification because they know their boss and his true aspirations. i can assure you sanchez doesnt give a F about qualifying 4th, they guy plays to win, everytime he steps on that pitch. a true servant to the club not the manager.
in an ideal world a) there are far, far better strikers than giroud out there - that the club could afford - and remember whos passing him the ball! lets see him play in a team without that kind of service. b) coq is good but not world class and the club could easily resolve that with WC competition c) LK needs a CB partner thats his equivalent.
frankly my preference is a new, young, long term manager worth his salt than the above.... its not like the team is bad!

Been away on business all week and can't bring myself to watch the highlights. Sounds like the Flamini/Ramsey combination has finally been found out...we lucked our way through a few games and now teams have got us Sussex. Listened to Arseblog's Arsecast yesterday on the plane. Home yesterday' Flamini didn't feature in the top 18 passing combinations against Soton, this is a bloke who is supposed to be the engine room of the side. What is also plain is that as much as people berate Giroud it's the rest of the team that aren't scoring goals. Someone of Ramsey, The Ox and Walcott need to start fking scoring. Giroud has got his fair share, Sanchez has done okay and Ozil's created ludicrous number of chances. The rest of the team needs to start contributing at the sharp end of the pitch.

I genuinely agree with everything written. Cech was a wonder signing, but we only got him because he wanted to stay in lOndon.
CB - yes, our cover isnt good enough.
DM - Coq has dont very very well, but it shows what we have been missing in the team Also, it shows that Wenger is blind to something that everyone else can see ( like the zip on his coat perhaps)
Walcott - I desperately want him to be better, but everytime i watch him he looses the ball more than he contributes. He also never knocks it long to run around people...always trys to skip past with close control
Giroud - i like him, to replace him you would need to spend 50 plus million and given the other areas it isnt needed. Get rid of Walcott to Spain and buy another option up front.

true. Arseblog was mentioning that Giroud might be rested with Walcott up front. The clicked very well last time they played............
so 90 mins of loosing possession it is.
Then the league leaders next week, lollerskates
I see the alternatives are Giroud up front holding it up and doing very little with it, apart for falling down or rolling his eyes when he misses, or Walcott up front losing a lot of possession trying to hold it up but making runs that Ozil and or Sancez slot through. Worth a try, if after 65 minutes it doesn't work put Giroud on and revert to championship style centre forward football.so 90 mins of loosing possession it is.
