Celtic have been given a bye in the semi final of the Scottish League Cup http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37446719
As they were in the Scottish Cup semis last year.Edinburger said:
Stupid decision to play the Old Firm game on Hogmanay. Ruining New Year for thousands of people that is.
Is that the thousands like you who hate seeing a Rangers scarf any day of the year?Hopefully it'll bring a new spirit to the game, so that the millions who support Rangers and Celtic enjoy it thoroughly - with the rest of the country.

It's a stupid date to choose because the police, the ambulances and hospitals and the bars will all be busy enough on that particular day without this.
Let's not forget that the last Old Firm game saw Police Scotland reporting that the number of calls concerning domestic abuse cases almost doubled on the day of the last Old Firm match.
It'll be a case of "Happy New Year, Senga. Sorry I missed the bells but I was blootered by 8pm. Sorry about the black eye too but I was angry about <insert whatever> at the game".
Class.

I'm sure the police appreciate your concern. Although I think given that the last 'big' game your diddy lot had resulted in mounted police on the fking pitch you should maybe consider the phrase about glass houses and stones. Class.

The question is: why were Rangers fans on the pitch? And why did The Rangers Football Club claim player assaults etc. which no one else saw and which were not captured on photographic evidence, etc.?
But you digress as usual. Do you think Hogmanay is a good choice of date for the Old Firm game? If so, why?
Interesting you never argued against the wife beating though.

What's everyone's view on Queen of the South
They've signed a prolific forward for the league for two k a week. Not a bad outfit. They will make the play offs but that's it tbh. It's always a tough game down there. Should be a good one with hibs tomorrow I'm hoping a draw to see the bairns back in.

No simoid, I don't care about the glory hunters across Scotland who choose to not support their local team.

Oh you care. You obviously care as you've taken a dig at the fans in the same sentence It's a stupid date to choose because the police, the ambulances and hospitals and the bars will all be busy enough on that particular day without this.

I'm sure the police have been consulted on the matter so they're obviously not unhappy with the date choice. It's a rock and a hard place I suppose with the fixture list.
What date would you prefer?

It'll mean a lot of polis will get the 1st and 2nd off.Edinburger said:

I don't have a wife to beat. What others do is for them, their wives and the police.I just don't care very much about any of it tbh. I want Rangers to win football matches, and especially against the manky mob. Aside from that Scottish football, like the Scottish 'parliament', its goings on and its diddy fans hold no interest for me.

More crowd trouble, this time at Pittodrie today. As well as the Rangers team bus being vandalised with reference to the Ibrox Disaster.
It's depressing how toxic the general atmosphere around Scottish football is at the moment - can't remember it being this bad say 10-15 years ago. Or perhaps it was and it's only because of social media etc we are exposed to it more?
On a more positive note that was some free kick to take the 3 points for Aberdeen.
