The top 4 all kept apart in the draw and at home.
That's what happens when Rod's not there to fk the system...!It should have been easy today, but I hear Morton missed a couple of sitters.

Rod did follow the system. He also got you an easy draw at home. It's unbelievable luck to land so many home ties against lesser teams.

New rangers certainly didn't look out of place against Morton today! It should have been easy today, but I hear Morton missed a couple of sitters.

Halliday getting caught in the middle caused a few problems. Bit of indecision at the back too. Usual story. It should have been easy today, but I hear Morton missed a couple of sitters.
I was flicking between the rugby and SS2 to hopefully see one of my teams win, after the pile of ste that was Hearts Hibs. I didn't get the impression Morton & Celtic B XI ever had enough to draw (if we didn't hand something else to them on a plate which was a possibility, I suppose).

What did you think was so bad about the Hearts v Hibs game?I was flicking between the rugby and SS2 to hopefully see one of my teams win, after the pile of ste that was Hearts Hibs. In no particular order:Pitch, resultant lack of skill on display, long ball football, loads of fouls/lack of flow,
It was a far better game than the recent Hearts v Rangrs game.

I agree with you on the pitch but not on any of the other points.

You enjoy long ball football? Or didn't think there was any on display? It was a far better game than the recent Hearts v Rangrs game.
Hibs tactics were bang on as we played a narrow game pushing Hearts to play wide which took most of the play away from their stronger players.
For me, Hibs were the stronger team and I expect we'll win at Easter Road.

It wasn't be finest football I've ever seen in an Edinburgh derby but it certainly wasn't the worst either. The poor pitch was partially to blame.

Yeah it was tactically astute from a Hibs point of view. Hibs tactics were bang on as we played a narrow game pushing Hearts to play wide which took most of the play away from their stronger players.

Anyone that was a betting man would have had their money on ICT tonight. The result was predictable. Rangers had a few years to develop their team to be ready for the premier league. What they've ended up with is players who are on their last legs, or simply not good enough. There isn't a quality player in that team.
With no money, and debt rising, I can't see how they can progress.
Aha - Rangers clearly got beat last night if this thread pops up in My Stuff
They'll progress with a decent manager. A side was built for the premiership but it's all fallen through due to too many signings being unfruitful gambles (so far). There's a whole premiership midfield unavailable, for example, in Barton, Kranjcar and Rossiter.
The team is ripe for development with a few summer additions. There's a lot of good players there but they're needing a holding midfielder and someone to step up crack in some goals. And a defence. But apart from that there's a good team...!

A defence that can't defend, a midfield that doesn't have a holding player or creative players, a strike force that can't score goals, a decent manager and a board with some money is needed. Other than that everything is fine. They'll progress with a decent manager. A side was built for the premiership but it's all fallen through due to too many signings being unfruitful gambles (so far). Warburton was supposed to be that man who could get the best from players and develop talent. I highly doubt there is the money, or incentive, for a good manager to take the job. It'll be Mcleish.
Barton was an odd one. I don't think anyone could have predicted how bad he would be on the field. It was widely known Kranjcar was finished. Rossiter is still a complete unknown. Even though he came from the premier league in England doesn't automatically mean he's going to be a quality player. The other two premier league loan players didn't look up to much again last night.
