He'll do for the start of the season while Dembele serves his suspension.

It always concerns me when managers sign players from their previous clubs, especially when they move up the the world. begs the question are they ambitious enough with their targets.
Nico Kranjcar and Harry Redknapp spring to mind.
I'm not sure this is a signing that moves us forward, hope to be proved wrong all the same.

Thought this thread would be a hive of activity today, after all you are well used to going out of Europe.

And as a Liverpool fan I'm surprised you're reading about Europe, something that doesn't concern you.

Interesting results in the EU referendum.

1, Leave (51.9%)
2, Remain (48.1%)
3, Abstained (28%)
4, Arsenal

At least our 5 England boys get to have a decent rest i suppose.

About the only positive i can think of about last night.

It's absolutely frightening how being part of the England setup and playing out of a familiar system or in a different position can absolutely make you look like a school boy running round.

We've all watched Kane and Alli have pretty damn good seasons but playing for England you've got Kane either out on the left or when played as a central striker no-one running beyond him which is what Alli, Lamella or Eriksen have the freedom to do.

Alli played almost the entire season as one of the front 3 attacking mids behind Kane. For England he gets chucked in the midfield with Rooney. Completely negating his attacking play.

What another waste of a tournament.

I agree with most of that, but I think Kane also had a poor tournament in general. For instance his freekicks were woeful.

He rarely takes them for Spurs. I guess that there is no one better selected in the England squad? That's more an indictment on the squad than Kane.

Completely agree, and that is why he doesn't take them at the club level! Another example of being asked to do something that you don't normally do and looking like an idiot when you fail at it.

I can't think Kane volunteered to take corners for example. It makes no sense whatsover, I can only assume he was selected by the management to do it.

It was an odd choice, especially after that superb Eric Dier free kick against Russia!

I think that last free kick summed up his tournament. Central field position, 35 yards out and manages to nearly hit the corner flag. Why he didn't just put it in the box I will never know. Maybe he looks good in training?

On the strength of that, we're favourites for relegation.
