Haven't seen the game but 5-1 against Newcastle suggests they didn't try too hard.

OK the league was gone but I kind of assumed the whole "finish above Arsenal" thing would have been some motivation to perform.

Seems they wasn't too bothered , Newcastle were decent apart from the cheating bit but we were just awful.

Why? The fans yeah, but the players?
Without homegrown players they don't really care, finish top or finish in Europe, that's the aim surely?
