Half his goals came in 2 games aginst Norwich and us, to be fair. He's a good player but for £25m I think we need better than a squad addition. Also, I could never work out what position is was supposed to be playing at Newcastle? Was he a wing-back? Wing-forward?
So you're saying he's just like Suarez?!
Just that his goal stats are a little flattering, I think he's a good player and would be a good addition. However, I think that there are better ways to spend £25m.

An assumption I and others made on here yesterday has also been all but confirmed in that article.

"Spurs remain in the market for another attacking midfielder, but decided against rivalling Liverpool’s £25million bid for Georginio Wijnaldum because they felt the fee was too high."

Bentaleb doesn't make the squad for the pre-season trip to Australia. Doesn't look like he's got much of a future with Spurs.

Haven't seen the squad that's going but aren't all our England heroes wink staying home as well.

The travelling squad:

Luke Amos
Dominic Ball
Tom Carroll
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Nacer Chadli
Marcus Edwards
Christian Eriksen
Tom Glover
Shayon Harrison
Vincent Janssen
Erik Lamela
Ryan Mason
Luke McGee
Will Miller
Josh Onomah
Heung-Min Son
Kieran Trippier
Michel Vorm
Kyle Walker-Peters
Anton Walkes
Victor Wanyama
Kevin Wimmer
Harry Winks
DeAndre Yedlin

Strange that Chadli is going if there's truth in the transfer speculation. No ticket for Pritchard, guess he's also on the way out.

Edwards is going, looks like he must have signed a new contract.

So basically he's off on a jolly round all the European countries to try and get a manager. Simeone, Poch, anyone else he fancies.

I can't see Poch wanting it at all and they wouldn't be able to afford his release clause.

Sounds like a rough start but have grown into it. Not much of a surprise with the back 4. I mean it's one of the kids who is a number 10 thrown in at left back!

Only useful for fitness but seeing as none of the typical starting 11 were starting here it's more just a marketing exercise anyway.

Considering it was a bunch of kids out there we completely dominated the 2nd half. Some of those kids are going to be household names in the future. Lamela was awesome and played like a leader something I've not seen him do before. His confidence is sky high. This is going to be a good season I think. People have written us off already saying we won't be able to recreate last seasons form but if we continue to play like we did in that 2nd half but with our first eleven then we could even eclipse last season I think.

You would have thought 2 big clubs could get more fans in that stadium, I remember last year we filled it with 100,000 fans .... looks empty
