Vertonghen is surprisingly back in full high intensity training. There's talk he could even be an outside bet for a role on Saturday!

So much for 'out until November'. "Super Jan" indeed smile

Rumours are that Paul Mitchell has handed in his notice.

Wonder how much United would want for Rashford ?

Seems his career will be coming to a standstill for a few seasons.

I expect frustrations with them not having control of actually signing players, merely identifying and suggesting them.

We'll probably never know the real reason. I have heard that Alli was signed against Mitchell's advice, so maybe he's not as hot as everyone is lead to believe (Mitchell, not Alli).

I'd argue that we should 'grow' as a team. That's something we've never done before and have the ideal opportunity to do now a la Man Utd with Becks, Giggs, Neville etc. They've had 1 season together and I think we should see what happens this season and next and if things don't progress then start thinking about buying a 'star' player.
Part of growing a team is improving the weaknesses, no one is suggesting wholesale changes just an improvement to the first team in order to help turn those draws into wins.

Manyoo, constantly improved the class of 96 team with single additions to add to that team. Cantona, York, Cole, Sheringham, Ferdinand. etc etc

So where do you see the weakness and need for a 'star'?

Ive never motioned 'star' once, infact ive said the opposite I don't give a st if its a star or not but what we do need is someone to improve our first team and turn those draws (what was it 13?) into wins.

So where exactly is that in the team? Who can be bettered by somebody coming in who isn't a 'star' then? I could see Ronaldo for Kane for instance but

1. We have the equal best keeper in the League
2. The stingiest defence in the league
3. The Golden Boot winner upfront

Is it a midfielder you think would make the difference? I just don't see who you think we could get in that would be any better at the moment bar a so-called 'super star'.

I'm not sure that I want Lamela or Erikson or Dembele or Dier or Alli to be replaced without having given them at least a couple of seasons development time. I suspect Poch doesn't see the need for a new regular first teamer either, hence Wanyama and Jansen.

One of the three positions behind Kane would be the obvious.

P.s why do you keep staying star? no one has mentioned that bar you laugh, I don't care if its a household name or someone ive never heard of we just need to improve in that area as that was our downfall last year as proved by the number of draws. plus every single one of or rivals has improved their first teams and we haven't.
