I do like Eriksen but if he wants to go then then we should let him go.

He'll be bloody expensive though.
That would be a huge backward step imo.

He wouldn't be that expensive he is in the last 2 years of his contract and somehow were only paying him £30k p/w laugh

I do agree, he should be on par with the higher earners

I'm sure he will get sorted.

I'd like Mata but my fellow spuddies do not agree.
I have not read the thread during the off-season, but thought I would catch up today before the weekend.

I watched him get subbed as a sub at the weekend, and thought exactly the same thing. Would make a great addition to the squad - premier league experience, seemed to enjoy living in London, and would definitely have a positive impact as a signing, and in the first team (maybe not a starter - but first team is a squad game now).

FFS United have just spend £100M to get the player they want & we are bartering over the payment for an £11m player.

C'mon Daniel if our manager wants him just go & get him.

Unless of course Poch doesn't want him & the departing Paul Mitchell did.

I can't believe we are going all frugal over such a small amount , there has to be more to it IMHO.

Yeah i know he has, but in terms of a first team player £11M is bugger all.

Something is very fishy about this transfer & i'm not talking about Baldricks plum duff

He does it all the time, every summer if the price is x he'll only pay y, and he'll do that in instalments. Its so frustrating its no surprise the other two walked the other day.

I suppose that Levy's in "fk me, I've gotta find half a billion to build a stadium" mode.

I'm not defending him, mind you.

I don't think it is, he must have saved up a fortune over the years we're the only team with a net spend pretty much year on year every team in the prem outspends us we should be able to build the stadium out of gold by now without it effecting transfers.

Its his ego, helps us when were a selling makes us a nightmare when buying.

Why aren't you defending him? He spent over £20m on Soldado and close to £30m on Lamela. If he thinks there's something not right with even an £11m deal then I'd back him 100%.

So you think that because it was money from the sale of Bale he took a completely 'easy-come, easy-go' attitude to it instead of his usual pragmatic approach?

I can just see it now, "yeah fk it, £25m?, £30m?, £35m?, whatevs, it's only money, we'll take him" laugh

Cos that's how successful businessmen work dontcha know yes

He must have done looking at who you brought in that year and what they cost compared to others year wink

You could argue that £80m for Eriksen, Chadli and Lamela would be money well spent now.

We made money (somehow) on Capoue. We lost money on Soldado and Paulinho. fk knows what happened to Vlad the Impaler.

It is what it is - plenty of clubs have done a lot worse than we did that year.
