I wouldn't rule out Son playing as the spearhead, he's a striker by trade really and he's in good form.
I'd agree though that we will always need Eriksen and/or Lamela playing if we want to be more creative, as with Alli they are the best for seeing a pass. Long-term I think Sissoko and Wanyama are going to be impact subs depending on whether we need to score or hold, with all of the transfer talk that goes on Spurs could keep the same XI as last season and still be very competitive.

God no, he's really not a centre forward. We've finally got him playing well lets leave him where he is London424 said:

Haha...I mean you could probably play him there for this cup game but you wouldn't want to make a habit of it. Anyway, isn't this the whole point of buying Janssen? Fans already on his back and he he's barely played, and it's not like Kane has been lighting things up this season.
Don't bloody start we were doing so well Son should not start as CF under any circumstances Im not sure the fans are getting on Janssens back? ive certainly not noticed it at the ground, he's always contributed when hes come on, nearly scored v Everton put one on a plate for Kane against Monaco and Sunderland its not his fault Kane missed them both

Maybe not Spurs fans but I've def seen plenty of comments about how he hasn't scored yet and his blast into the upper tier on Sunday was commented on.
Well I commented about it on here but I doubt he's a PH'er I certainly didn't stand up at the ground and boo him or tell him how st he is. I happen to think he's looked pretty decent whenever ive seen him, this week should be when he finds his feet he cant really ask for much better games. That said im not sure he's ready to lead the line for a prolonged period just yet so hope some of the rumours going round about Kane aren't true.

as long as he does that and goals are scored I don't care if he doesn't score them.
I do, but that's because I'm a bit old fashioned and think that a central striker wearing the number 9 should be scoring the majority of the goals. I really hope we see 20+ goals out of him this season, and with Kane out he's got a great opportunity to start his contribution.So..... Cards on the table - time to open up and be honest. Here we go:-
I am a occasional poster on this thread, and an avid viewer. I am most definitely a Spurs fan. Have been since 1981 after the Cup Final, and was cemented as a Spurs fan when Glenn Hoddle presented me with the player of the week award at the Coca Cola Soccer Skills back in 1984/5 Summer holidays (can't remember). First live game I ever went to was West Ham vs Tottenham (at Upton Park) and (I think) George Parris scored the late winning goal, and I cried.
However I was born in Gillingham. I had trials at Gillingham. I've played at Priestfield Stadium many times. I was a Gills Junior Season ticket holder. I followed Gillingham up and down the country from 1995 - 1998, saw them get promoted in Pulis first season, I've seen Gillingham play at Wembley 3 times (2 wins and 1 loss). Have definitely seen Gillingham play more games live than I have Spurs.
However have watched Spurs on the TV more - and if asked by a stranger, I am a Spurs fan.
I don't remember Spurs ever playing Gillingham before - and a quick google suggests it has only happened once on 09 November 1982 at Priestfield (Spurs won 4-2 - Archibald and Crooks with 2 each. No record of Gillingham scorers!). This was never supposed to happen. My football team playing my local football team.
Now living abroad I won't be at the game tonight. A lot of mates in similar situation as me. Some in Spurs end, some in Gillingham end for tonight. (There will be a lot of Gillingham fans in Spurs seats tonight, as Gillingham got such few tickets, I guarantee it. Gillingham took their full 40,000 to Old Wembley, and I went to Highbury and Stamford Bridge to watch Gillingham away, and many fans in home seats).
I am so confused! Head says Tottenham as they have a chance of winning the cup. Heart says Gillingham.
Mods feel free to give me a 24 hour lock from the thread!!
I suppose looking on the bright side I can't lose whatever the result. I leave my apologies at the door - as I say - COYG's!
