Postscript - just watched the game on Match of the Day and I have to say I am surprised. Apparently City had 58% possession and only one fewer attempt on goal? It looked far more one sided than that from where I was sat.

Only possession I saw was their keeper flapping when we closed him down quickly.

One of the words the Guardian site used was 'violence' for the way we played.

It's true, City will feel they've had a right kick-in today. We were extremely aggressive and ruthless.
I agree.
Have always thought your manager was the real article.

Worrying times for a scouser as you had the stumble last year and the current team look like they can learn from it.

I wouldn't rule out Son playing as the spearhead, he's a striker by trade really and he's in good form.
God no, he's really not a centre forward. We've finally got him playing well lets leave him where he is laugh
Agreed. He's not a back to goal player. Just keep him out there on the left and let him do his thing.
No apologies required. biggrin

Son was excellent, especially first half. His runs off the ball were so intelligent, but in the second half he got caught a few times when there was a pass on. Best I've seen Spurs play for a while, considering the oppo.

Fair point, he was brilliant yesterday. I still don't believe its his position though.

MoTD high-lights didn't do they game justice.

I think he played really well and in the system against that opponent he was ideal as his workrate makes him very tough to play against.

However, against teams that are going to sit in and not try and play out from the back I'd rather him out on the wing where he gets the ball facing the goal rather than have to be a target.

I used to love those green cotton gloves the keepers wore back then. Les Green was my favourite keeper early 70s and had them as did Bobby Ferguson at WHU.

I nagged my mum for ages to get me some. Wet ball one day and they were soaked ...

I always think the ones Coutois wears look like some fetishwear ... (black-rubber-ish-looking)!

Didn't Green play for Derby County? Iirc, he was only about five foot eight tall but he had and incredible agility. A great keeper.
