There is a danger of this becoming the theme for our season. Our inability to convert possession and dominance in to goals is a worry.
Twas the same last season... That said really enjoyed the game last night, two top team I thought that played great football. Could / Should have been a couple up at half time but lucky not to concede a couple in the second half! as 0-0's go it wasn't exactly dippers v manyoo.
I think the point is that dominance doesn't win football matches, goals do.
Don't get me wrong - I've been to all our home games this season including the CL game and we are playing some good football - probably some of the best I've seen in my lifetime - but it is a worry that we can go for long periods being totally dominant and just not get the ball in the back of the net. We really should be making hay whilst the sun shines as we are going to have a wobble at some point so need to bag wins when we are on top.

I'll say it again we need a reliable goal poacher, not sure anyone in the team currently really fills that role, not even Kane. Unfortunately the modern game doesn't really produce such players anymore, the closest I can think of is Miraslov Klose but he is getting on a bit.
In the premiership the person who I can think of is Charlie Austin, really wish we'd gone for him rather than paid silly money for Sissoko, at £4m he was an absolute steal and just the sort of poacher we could have used, he is banging them in at Southampton.

Because it is not enough to simply be a goalscorer in the system we play. You have to be a complete player; strong, athletic, technically proficient, able to hold the ball up, beat a man and pick a pass, able to receive the ball with your back to goal and hold it up etc. If we had someone like Austin upfont, so many moves and attacks would break-down that we'd never get the ball in a position for him to score. You might as well stick Defoe up front...In the premiership the person who I can think of is Charlie Austin, really wish we'd gone for him rather than paid silly money for Sissoko, at £4m he was an absolute steal and just the sort of poacher we could have used, he is banging them in at Southampton.
Also, it was 21 games since we last fail to score - hardly cause for panic. We should be applauding another clean sheet.
