Liverpool will no doubt play a very strong team & good luck to them as they have little else to do midweek these days but we can't be risking our better players in this two bob cup.
I imagine our team will be made up of 2nd string and youth, something like

Mignolet
Randall Llori Klavan Moreno

Ejaria Lucas Stewart

Ings Sturridge Origi

None of which are what we would call 1st choice
If that's the case it's battle of the second stringers...how sad, yet reflective of that competition.

tbh I like to see some of the youth given a go, happy to go spend some of my money tonight and see people who might be able to break in ie ings, origi, ejaria, stewart etc

I expect Klopp to put out a much stronger side than that.

tbh I am thinking more a long the line of RT's in our thread..... he is going to make changes, prob 6-8 from last game but maybe just a few less youth ...

To be honest if I was a pool fan id be disappointed if he did anything other than put out his strongest side, why would he not? its not as if youre inundated with games this season, youre at home against a side that aren't taking it a seriously why on earth wouldn't he do his best to get into the next round?

I think this cup is an absolute nightmare for most teams. From memory it really messes you up around the Xmas period. So even if you aren't in Europe you end up with the Xmas period, one of these and then the FA cup all in the space of a couple of weeks.

Looking at Liverpools fixtures last season while they were in it they played:

26, 30th Dec
2, 5, 8, 13, 17, 20, 23, 26, 30 Jan

That's in the Prem, LC and FA cup.

With that sort of congestion you can see why you'd want to rotate massively or go out of the LC.

Tbh, I don't seem to remember it doing us that badly - I can't remember us dropping too many points. AFAIR, we started dropping points at the end of the season when we turned our attention to the Europa League.

Tonight's team: Vorm, Trippier, Carter-Vickers, Wimmer, Davies; Dier (c), Winks; Onomah, Carroll, Nkoudou; Janssen.
Just about what I expected although I thought Wanyama might start.
Subs: Lopez, Walkes, Vertonghen, Amos, Lamela, Wanyama, Harrison.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lucas, Klavan, Moreno, Stewart, Wijnaldum, Grujic, Ejaria, Origi, Sturridge.

What's happened to Dier ? He looks out of sorts, with uncharacteristic give-aways and poor passing..

We played eight players who are under the age of 23 tonight.

Not a bad effort.

Looks like your players do too, wink

Second best goalkeeper in the world has done some nice saves though.
Not sure about that..spurs played well

All the away fans dont agree with you though smarty, they certainly cared and wanted to go through...was sat right next to them..credit to them too, love it when away fans are noisy all thenway through
U have some good youngster, your new striker doesn't look up to it though
