Good work. Please post across the board! Can't we find someone else for £5m to even it up?!
I think Danny has been with us for 9 years now. Is that right? He gets my vote for most improved player over the last two years.

Carroll off to Swansea, guess he fancies a bit of Championship footy.
It does seem like an entire promising generation of academy players have now been moved on.

Carroll
Alex Pritchard
Andros Townsend
Jake Livermore
Steven Caulker
Ryan Mason
Nabil Bentaleb

Thought at least one of them would have made it.

It does feel like some of the better Premiership academies are getting adept at producing great Championship quality players!

omitting the ones that did actually make it from your list doesn't really help, hint 'he's one of our own' wink

Can't believe you stole Wanyama and Dembele for under a third of Carlton P's cost ...

Pretty sure Bentaleb is still a Spurs player .

In all fairness they have all made it, just not quite good enough for us right now.

10 years ago i'm sure most of these would have been first team regulars , but not now in the wonderful time for our football club.

The thing is , that if just one of these players moves on for lets say £8m then it must be worth it.

On the subject of money did anyone hear on the Five Live commentary the other day the story that when they started construction on the new stadium, there were no cranes for hire in time so Levy went out and bought some instead? So Spurs own all of the cranes on the construction site, and the price of steel is going up so when no longer required Levy will be able to sell the cranes at a profit laugh

£50m transfer profit. And they're all Prem players, even if a couple have chosen Championship clubs.

Quite, and there's still Kane, winks, Carter Vickers, Omanah, Edwards. All in or around the first team. Hardly a generation lost. In fact I cant think of a club with a better recent record.

I'd include Walker, Rose, Dier and Alli too. None were established top division players when we signed them.

Yep you are right and I would have too, but you know what the naysayers are like so I couldn't be arsed laugh Either way you'd be hard pressed to find a better youth to first team programme in the whole league so god knows what this whole lost generation bkss was about

Not sure you can include Alli - he practically went straight into your first team.

He was thrown into the deep-end because we had a lot of injuries when he first signed. Bentaleb and Dembele got injured by week 4, then Mason, Carroll and Pritchard were all injured and so Alli was probably 3rd of 4th choice but by week 6 he was starting. He took his opportunity but I don't think when he was signed that anyone thought he would starting games, let alone making the position his own, in the first season. Without those injuries, we might have still be slowly introducing him still this season.
