It does seem like an entire promising generation of academy players have now been moved on.

Carroll
Alex Pritchard
Andros Townsend
Jake Livermore
Steven Caulker
Ryan Mason
Nabil Bentaleb

Thought at least one of them would have made it.
Pretty sure Bentaleb is still a Spurs player .

In all fairness they have all made it, just not quite good enough for us right now.

10 years ago i'm sure most of these would have been first team regulars , but not now in the wonderful time for our football club.

£50m transfer profit. And they're all Prem players, even if a couple have chosen Championship clubs.
Quite, and there's still Kane, winks, Carter Vickers, Omanah, Edwards. All in or around the first team. Hardly a generation lost. In fact I cant think of a club with a better recent record.
Can't see Omanah having a long term future and I wouldn't be confident that Winks will be around for the long term.

Kane is the only first teamer to have come through the academy who appears to have a bright future. I do wonder if Poch is as committed to bring through young players as the hype would have you believe or is happy to do it when he doesn't have the transfer funds to immediately buy first teamers.

Very good. I love a good crane deal me, very shrewd.

Where's the £750M coming from for the stadium?

Not sure you can include Alli - he practically went straight into your first team.
He was thrown into the deep-end because we had a lot of injuries when he first signed. Bentaleb and Dembele got injured by week 4, then Mason, Carroll and Pritchard were all injured and so Alli was probably 3rd of 4th choice but by week 6 he was starting. He took his opportunity but I don't think when he was signed that anyone thought he would starting games, let alone making the position his own, in the first season. Without those injuries, we might have still be slowly introducing him still this season.
But the original point was about academy players. He's been no where near your academy.

The part your missing is that we've got him for free as he's already paid for himself and them some due to revenue income. Not sure you can say the same about your list of players smile We've got a world class midfielder for free as well as the Prems leading goalscorer on a free. We're ok at this business you know, Levy could learn something wink

I am sure it comes as no surprise to see that Chelsea are way out in front in the table of worst divers for the past 3 seasons having cheated over 50% more than the next cheatiest team

Feel a bit sorry for Pritchard, never got a first team crack. Lots of awards after his loan at Brentford, the gets injured playing for England under-21s and then gets shunted off to West Brom on loan. Proving your abilities in a Pulis squad is a longshot.

It does seem that we are now looking for big, strong runners which is going to rule out a lot academy players. Can't see Edwards playing much, he's just not going to physically hack it.

I deal all day long with folk suffering from delusions. Unfortunately, we've not got a bed for you at the moment. Maybe next week.

Winks will be a mainstay of the future. Seen nothing to suppose Onomah wil make it but then I don't watch him in training sessions though.

He'd of been playing academy games if it wasn't for injuries. It's always a lot harder for academy players at Prem teams to make it I think, as their game time is massively restricted. Which is why you see a lot of young players signed from lower leagues by Prem teams and brought through, as they've played a lot more competitive games. If you can bring through one 1st teamer from the ranks a season, then that's great going. Not least because you've saved yourself £20m+ straight away.

I think he'd rather have young players that have been trained and brought up into his way of thinking, playing and culture; and that feel part of the club, than buying in "stars" and their egos.

Winks is very highly thought off, Poch loves him and has already played him in big games and infront of more experienced players. Edwards is another one if he hadn't have got injured we'd have seen more have him.

Its a strange argument fittster is trying to have and hes picked probably the worst club he could to have it.
