You seem to have time on your hands, have a read. https://thespursreport.wordpress.com/2016/09/01/th...
Not that much time! I will have a read through when I get chance. It's certainly an exciting time for Spurs fans. I understand your optimism.
I'm not that optimistic, it will be difficult and if the performances of Kane etc fall off and we have to find big money replacements - that's where the problems will creep in. I first stared going to games in the Gerry Francis and Christian Gross era, so I've seen the depths the club can plumb to.

I really don't understand the selling club reputation though, Modric and Bale was 4 years ago and realistically if an offer comes like that comes through there isn't much any team can do. Selling him to another premier league team would have been absolutely criminal. All of the transfers to premier league teams have been flogging dead wood like Kaboul to bottom/mid table teams.

Ronnie wanted to play for his dream club but gave us another season and we won the champions league, he left with our blessing and remains almost universally loved by everybody at United. De Gea who has been our best player for the last few years is still last time I looked a United player. RM don't always get their man. Let's hope for your sake that carries on as I'm sure a few of your boys will be being watched.

That seems to apply to any club or player when RM or Barcelona come knocking - they are like some mythical irresistible Siren.
Levy needs to take a hammer to your fax machine like Ed did to ours. wink
I am a scouser, so really the next one could possibly be Coutinho - but we aren't exactly overflowing with players that will be attractive to them.
Maybe Alberto Moreno.

I'd be optimistic if I were you. Kane is a great striker, I've made no secret on here that I think he's the real deal and United should do whatever they can to try and buy him, but that's just my opinion. Jose's opinion is what counts. I think he's tailor made for us but Levy can't stand us and so it would be up to the player. Would he want to play for United or play for his boyhood club?

I thought Klopp may have left him in the west country last night.

FWIW I don't think he'd leave to join Utd either.

Can I just chuck in here... that I've been watching Tottenham for 52 years, and this is the best squad I've seen.

67 was good, as was 71 and 81/82... but this is a proper pleasure to watch. Not from behind the sofa for once.

Please Mr Levy, pay Mr Pochettino whatever he asks!

That is literally the house of cards. If Poch goes, then all bets are off with players sticking around.

Pochettino is the most important person at the club, the chairman must keep him happy at all costs. what he has done is nothing short of miraculous we have a smaller transfer kitty and a much smaller wagebill than our competitors and yet he's out performing them.

I'd save time and plan for the statue now! kidding aside, he's the one I fear losing he's tailor made for utd imo. While he is with us im confident none of our players would want to go anywhere.

I think you're OK. Jose is at Man Utd to stay. Not sure Poch has the kahunas for the big gig.

I certainly hope so, hes doing a smashing job of spending a fortune and keeping you below us so far. Long may it continue.

Some positive news that The Tonghen's ankle does not require surgery and he should be out for 6 weeks which is less than first feared.

It also sounds like Poch is starting to lose patience with awol Erik.

Good news about the Tonghen, as for Lamela , it's not as if we are missing him is it.

Have to agree and hope I'm not accused of aftertiming. I think he's a great footballer but not suited to the PL. Plenty of tricks but you just do not get the time in our league. I've thought it from the beginning and have discussed it with my brother many times.

If this was right would you not be winning cups? be top of the league and in the next round of the champs league? confused

No I don't thinks so, the barometer of performance is the league table, Spurs spend less in transfer fees and wages than Liverpool, Manyoo, Chelsea, Arsenal and man city that much is undoubted yet since poch's arrival id guess we have accumulated more league points than all bar Arsenal.

Happy to be proved wrong but I think that's probably accurate.

6th largest revenue, second in the table. So outperforming 4 of the 5. 3rd last season, outperformed 4 of the 5 again.

Judging by the piss poor performance by the Scouse against Plymouth, I'd suggest that clubs don't care about cups and they are therefore a very poor barometer of performance.
