amazing, I can feel your power from here.

No mention of the Ce*ic forum possibly being shut, no surprise there then.

The difference is, when they come to the rangers thread and cause it, the thread gets closed.

When rangers fans go to the celtic forum, they get individually banned.
What are you blethering about?

This is the Rangers thread, still open, individual bans dished out. So every statement in your weird rant is wrong.

ps, getting sarky with a mod is just plain daft.

I'm talking about before when it got locked rather than telling them to keep out.

I'm at a loss as to why it might be perm locked again.

Two thread bans handed out, more will follow.

Might find it difficult to believe but all mods have a life outside of PH. Therefore, your childish squabbles may have to be dealt with further down the list of jobs than I'd wish - today was one of those days.

Beware that this thread and the general Scottish football thread are in danger of being shut down permanently. The next person on here that steps a millimetre out of line will be gone a darn sight quicker than the last two.
That's decent, but the problem is the nuisances want the thread closed so unless they're banned they'll continue to try to goad a reaction from the thread's natural inhabitants i.e. the rangers fans.

The best thing the rangers crew could do is try to resist taking the bait, like most of them did in the face of that disgraceful episode at hampden.

Well, from my experience modding other boards,

It takes a fair while to ban individual posters, time out of keeping an eye on all the other threads, also out of the mod's home life.
You end up with loads of "why was X banned but not Y?" moaning
You get accused of bias/ineptitude/all sorts of nonsense.

You guys should feel lucky that GM is a lot more tolerant than most mods.

Guys, lets get back on with discussing Rangers on OUR forum please. Glovermart has laid it out in black and white.
Lets not lose the thread.
Hopefully those who perpetually post nonsense and rumour to wind us up are either not here now or will reign in their input to suitable effect or better still not bother inputting at all. biggrin

Please don't be at a loss, it's simple really if these threads can't self moderate and take up too much time to moderate, they will be closed down.

As an aside it has been muted in the past by Haymarket that if the footy forum members can't behave and post in a gentlemanly manner then perhaps the whole forum should be removed. So if any forum demands too much moderation steps will be implemented to resolve the issue.

HTH explain.

So the Celtic trolls can get the Rangers thread shut.

In other news - this young Burnley fan really is distraught Barton has joined the Gers!

I'm the last person to defend Scottish football Al but if Haymarket think these threads are in need of closing then perhaps they should take a closer look at some of the threads in NP&E where posters appear to be able to get away with name calling that make these threads look tame.

If Haymarket took that stance with every thread there wouldn't a pistonheads forum.

I've had a good idea.

The fans should whistle the offensive line in The Billy Boys and sing the rest. That way they could sing the song without anyone being offended.

Whistling would be seen as offensive I'm quite certain...!

It's not the easiest thing to do, substituting whistling for the words so I don't think it would work.

But I don't think we should just give it up, it's the best chant in Scottish football. Compare 50k giving it hullo, hullo to the dirge of YNWA, Sunshine on Leith or Flower of Scotland.

It's surely possible and practical to swap 'the word' or if necessary 'the line' for something more palatable but keep the power of the song.

It is , but we are banned from singing it in any format.
Unlike any other club who sing the tune to their own words without anyone blinking an eye!

This thread will be closed, possibly only temporarily, while we decide whether to contine running it. Yet again, another week has gone by with countless reports from one side or another and frankly, it's beyond tiresome.

In the meantime, go and find a specific Rangers (or Celtic or Scottish football generally) forum to have a go at each other on.
