I thought the theatrics of Arsenal during tackles yesterday where a disgrace. Getting in the ref's face and that couqin bloke gibbing on Mahrez during a sub, what a melt.

Still, Drinky was lucky to stay on the pitch yesterday, Simpson had a harsh yellow. Ref completely bottled it second half which was a shame. Results are results though so i think the guys can quickly forget about this one and focus on the next run in. As a poster above said, it literally is ours to throw away with the next set of games. If we can spur on the "great escape" mentality of last season then i think we will be as good as there!

COYF!
The Arse were certainly using every available tactic. Giroud was a disgrace too, and the guy that went down for the final free kick was barely touched. Very 'professional' performance from Arsenal.

And lets not forget that half of them went into the crowd to celebrate the 2nd goal. Which is specifically prohibited and can be termed as dangerous.

Crystal Palace (a)
Saints (h)

Man City:
Cup Final (Newcastle cancelled to be rearranged)

Villa (h)
Norwich (a)
Man U (h)
Bournemouth (a)

Arsenal:
Man U (a)
Swansea (h)
Spurs (a)
West Brom (h)
Everton (a)
Watford (h)

Spurs:
Swansea (h)
West Ham (a)
Arsenal (h)
Villa (a)
Bournemouth (h)
Liverpool (a)

Man City, Arsenal and Spurs all play in Europe twice in this time period, City have a cup final and a rearranged tie against Newcastle possibly too.
Arsenal, Man City and Spurs are also in the FA Cup, where as Leicester are probably on holiday somewhere.

Leicester's to throw away in my opinion. Nothing to fear in their next 6 league matches.
My only worry with Leicester's games is that they're not playing teams who up until now, on paper, have been considered 'better' and so their natural counter-attacking game maybe won't happen - they may find they have more of the ball than usual. Will teams park the bus and play them at their own games. These teams are fighting for survival and may see a point v Leics as a good result, whereas in previous seasons, they've fancied their chances and gone for it more ...

Pulis' Baggies are such a pragmatic lot, they'll not venture out of their half much ...

Teams like Watford are half decent as well - more than they've been given credit for.

I would love them to win the League this season. WIll they, don't kno. If not them, then Spurs. It's about time someone else won it other the usual suspects.

Load of bks guys. If Arsenal gave a 'professional' performance then the penalty for Vardy was no better. I actually agree that it was a penalty, just about, but he certainly made sure that he went down by making contact with the defender. Both of Simpsons cards were yellows. Drinkwater should have been sent off for the tackle on Ramsey.

Ref 'bottling it'? Not for me. Leicester were fouling an awful lot in the first 10-15 minutes of the second half, a player getting 2 yellows was always a chance when playing like that. And Coquelin getting in Mahrez face when he was subbed was a nothing incident, pretty desperate bringing that up.

Arsenal were all over them for the second half and on the balance of play were good value for the win.

EDIT - Welbeck was booked for the celebrations at the end of the match, though of course, you have a point that a few more should have been. But, it was the last kick of the game pretty much so would have had no bearing on the result (not sure if an extra yellow would have been a red card for any of the players anyway). And also, who actually cares? Players going into the crowd to celebrate an important, last gasp goal - big wows.

As opposed to?....

I'm in Scotland so although we talk about football most mornings, when it's English football no ones too fussed about it. We do however have one guy who supports Arsenal and he said something similar about Vardy... we asked him what Vardy should have done as he was already moving in that direction, he could hardly not go over the outstretched leg

Nice selective quoting. I already said that I thought it was a penalty (in the same line as the one you quoted). As they said in the analysis, Vardy had every right to go down over the outstretched leg. But, from one angle in particular you can see that he is going down and then making contact on the way. Just what I'd want an Arsenal player to do. I responded to someone else saying that it was a 'professional' performance by Arsenal, implying that they employed a lot of gamesmanship. I simply said that the Vardy foul could be in the same category. Maybe now I've said that I thought it was a penalty on three separate occasions then you'll get the point.

I thought it was a good game - combative, aggressive, but not nasty. Some people seem to want to insist that there was more going on than there was. Sanchez appealing for the first Simpson yellow wasn't great. Giroud seemed to get some stick for the second yellow, but I've watched the highlights and all he did was flail his arms twice and then walked well away from the situation. Coquelin getting in Mahrez face - who cares, nothing incident. Giroud and Schmeichel had a bit of a go but both gave as good as they got. The nastiest incident was the Drinkwater foul on Ramsey, but he got away with a clear straight red had the ref seen it.

Cannot believe someone has said that the guy who won the free kick that led to the goal was hardly touched - that was as clear a foul as any all day. 100% the defenders fault.

Good, competitive game where the team that created far more chances managed to nick it. Ranieri was a good sport in the post match interview as well.

only thing is that point doesn't mean a huge amount to us depending on who does step up to the plate with goal difference, or it could end up being huge and being another Man city aguaro moment (can you imagine Leicester winning it on the final day in the final minute? god I think my head would explode!)

With a [insert Chelski player here] own goal ... even better. How about John Terry or Costa?

Assuming (as is likely) that the final game of the season is meaningless to Chelsea I'll be hoping for a Leicester win.

I remember the final game a few seasons back when a home defeat would have sent Everton down... There were audible groans around the ground when we scored hehe

Ranieri lifting the trophy at Stamford Bridge would be such poetic justice.
It's impossible to dislike the man.

Incredible that Leicester are 5 points clear, which is the same amount 'dominant' Bayern are clear of Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Important game for us a week today against Newcastle, hopefully Steve will still be their manager and we can get a win. We can't afford to assume we'll turn them over, they're a half decent team who are capable of beating us, we need to make sure we're at the top of our game. 9 games to go!
