Any footballer wanting to go & play in China has got to be a worth giving the swerve.

Bit worrying this chinese lot
Sounds like they have put a bid in for HR too .

Strange thing is he has gone on record as saying for over a year now, he needs to play in Europe so he can break into national team as Dunga or his team never go over to the Ukraine to watch haha well they certainly aint going over to China.. so thats no 2018 worldcup for himI'm sure there's a post gone missing about " Where does it say he wants to go there "

I think what he has done almost every player will do - move for the money.
Unless they are a boyhood fan or brought up by the club i can't ever see a really sincere reason why they would join the club apart from cash and the potential for exposure.
With regards to Teixiera I actually don't think he was the right player for us at this time and if he starts smashing 30 goals a season in China I hope we keep our balance of good he is.
I'm really pleased we didn't capitulate and pay the cash - and it seems to be the right move right now
If that was the case why wouldnt every top player be playing in the super rich paying leagues??? Unless they are a boyhood fan or brought up by the club i can't ever see a really sincere reason why they would join the club apart from cash and the potential for exposure.

I guess you lot would be glad to get him off your books but at £20m and £150k a week who would take him?

Just saw a Sky Sports replay of Liverpool v Man Utd Worthington Cup Final. The defence then really was night and day compared to ours today. Hyypia and Henchoz were rocks and Dudek a great shot stopper. Then you had Didi Hamman being the commanding midfielder we are so desperately missing right now; drove the ball forward for Owen to score his second.

I started watching LFC in the early 70s. If I kept looking back at old clips, I'd be even more peed off with our current lot than I am already! Interesting interview with Ian Ayre - addressing the ticket pricing and the quote on the FSG website about consumers.

For me it was the mid-eighties (think we are giving away our age here!) - however it was nice to see a Liverpool team again that was rock-solid in defence, even though we were setup to be boring under Houllier, we got results. Was actually nice reliving it unexpectedly. Like many on here, those were the days where I couldn't wait to see our next game.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
