Looks like Shirtpull could be off to Turkey in the summer, and it won't be on holiday!

The France and Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho’s provisional suspension for a doping offence has expired and the player faces no further ban, the French sports daily L’Equipe reported on Saturday.
Sakho was banned for 30 days after testing positive for an illegal substance following Liverpool’s Europa League tie against Manchester United on 17 March.
L’Equipe reported that Sakho’s lawyers had argued that a fat-burner Sakho ingested was not on the list of banned substances, meaning that he was not guilty of doping.
The newspaper said Sakho was free to resume his activities as a professional football player and that he would be officially cleared of any wrongdoing in “the coming days”.
Sakho was omitted from the France squad for the Euro 2016 finals but coach Didier Deschamps has until 31 May to register his 23-man squad with Uefa. Sakho told Le Parisien that he has been training on his own twice a day and is ready to play.

Wow. Well that's unexpected. Good news.Sakho was banned for 30 days after testing positive for an illegal substance following Liverpool’s Europa League tie against Manchester United on 17 March.

Great attempt from Origi (fantastic save too): https://streamable.com/1ryy
I think Origi is going to have a great tournament this summer, the lad seems to be growing in confidence with every game.

I'm not sure LFC ever banned him and I'm sure we didn't fine him. He was provisionally banned by UEFA for 30 days whilst they investigated. This meant he missed the Europa League final and preparations for the Euros. Plus he'll now always be tarnished with having been charged for drug use.
I can certainly see why he'd want to sue. Having said that, suing one of the professional bodies that you wish to play under might not be the wisest choice.

We did ban him. As soon as it was announced we said he was suspended, before Uefa announced what they were doing. Ultimately a mistake may have been made but the "a mistake has been made so I'm suing" culture is st, frankly. UEFA should apologise if there's been an error (I don't think it's been said what happened yet) and he should be clearly exonerated, if that's the case.
Isn't the argument that it should no longer be on the banned list due to emergent scientific findings?
So it was correctly placed on the banned list but maybe shouldn't be on it now?
Can't see Sakho suing anyone if so.
Anyway, looks like we might not need to buy as many centre backs as we first thought!

We didn't ban him, we choose not to select him while things were sorted out. I guess there's not a lot of difference, except we could have played him at anytime. I guess that would hurt any legal case as he could have played, but he likely had little input into the club's actions.
I can see why he might consider action if he was suspended for taking something that wasn't on the banned list though, that must have been obvious from the start.

He was definitely banned for 30 days by UEFA.
He was, no-one is saying otherwise! lol After we had already banned him from selection. Just LFC seen to be "doing the right thing" in the light of what seemed damning evidence at the time, rather than a legal ban like the UEFA one. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
