Allen was immense in that win over City, but he also had some pretty poor games under BR. There is no doubt he's improved under Klopp, especially with consistency in his performances.
I think if Allen was any good Klopp would have kept him, it tells me all I need to know about Allen that he has got shut of him.

In fairness to Allen he was starting to look like he knew how to play football in recent times though.

Again, I don't think that's quite accurate. Like Benteke I think Allen is a great footballer. He just doesn't quite suite our style.

Just for my 2p on Allen;

He came along with BR form Swansea, obviously a BR favourite so I waited to see what we had:

tumbleweed

Apparently, he had a good game against Arsenal early doors (I missed it) but then he seemed to be either injured or in poor form and became a bit of a fringe player for the 2013/14 season. Into 14/15, he showed a bit more form from time to time, but the team were pretty poor that season so it was difficult to judge. I don't think anybody was helped by BR's "square pegs in round holes" tactics TBH.

Since Klopp has come in, Allen has been used more effectively - Klopp has a clear way he wants to play and seems to be able to see which players will be effective in each role. Allen has looked better since Klopp's arrival and looked good for Wales in the Euros, but, IMHO, we have other players who will do the same jobs as Allen, but do them better most of the time.

Ultimately, I reckon Allen's been ok for us - wouldn't go as far as saying he's great, but decent. Sorry to see him go, but doubt he'd play much if he stayed.

Wish him well for the future.

I would say this is the bigger problem. I don't think Klopp has been limited in anyway - when he came to us he said he doesn't sign big money stars. Of all the players we were strongly linked with this summer I don't think there have been any that we've lost out on due to the price, except maybe Chilwell.

Sye, has every game been made a Cat 1? When I was looking at tickets last week I'm sure there were a number of seats for £35-45.
Every game is Cat 1 yes, lower prices depending on your age, my tickets bar the cat 1 games are all dearer though.

Crazy - unfortunately there is no incentive for LFC to reducec ticket prices when they can sell out any league game in just a few hours.

Allan Rodrigues de Souza has joined Hertha Berlin on loan. Highly-rated by #LFC & Klopp.

Ref ticket prices I know what you are saying and nothing will be done until something is done again like last time... I think £35 considering the money they know get from tv is fair

Nonsense. Played very well at times under Rodgers, fitness permitting. But the rhetoric is that Klopp is the new messiah so we'll push that agenda.

As for our transfer policy, I wonder what FSG's net spend is since they bought the club? I think we were asking the same questions last summer.
Its not nonsense when the evidence is here in black and white. I have no time for moaning about FSG. Maybe you're also one of those who doesn't rate Klopp as a manager? In which case we can agree to disagree and wait and see what happens cos frankly I have no time for moaning minnies who think they know more about football than the people employed to do the bloody job.
Can you provide me with this black and white evidence on Allen please?

I do rate Klopp as a manager actually. His achievements at BVB are excellent and he gives the impression that he's a great man to work for.

As for FSG, I'm not moaning. I am asking legitimate questions about their ownership. There's nothing wrong with an enquiring mind, we as fans should all have one.

I understand that you have no time for people who think they know more than those in the game. I also get the impression you have no time for people who know more about the game than you.

Let's not argue eh. There will be plenty of opportunity for that if we lose a few games.

No point in answering anyone who throws insults around. "Ner ner ner ner ner, I know more about football than you". I shall leave you to your imagined superiority. Funny though. laugh

Of course he does as the majority of fans including most on here think he is no good forgetting that he played all year with an injury and how good he was year before - so yes in his eyes he needs to prove himself ....to himself, the fans and probably Klopp who never saw his form first hand the year before

Safe to say I am not a Jordan Henderson fan. Think he is a very average player. Certainly shouldn't be anywhere near the captaincy. I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp takes that responsibility away from him. With Allen gone, could be deployed as a dependable squad player.

1990? biggrin

He was good but I believe that was more down to that Suarez-effect and players raising their performances. Even Sterling looked quality that season.

My comments might ruffle a few feathers and Henderson splits opnion among fans but we have a history of signing very medicore players than players that become stars. No doubt we have signed some real stars but the mediocrity that has prevailed for many years has effectively held us back. Klopp seems to finally be putting together (on the face of it at least) a squad that looks exciting and potentially many stars and on similar or smaller budget than his predecessors.
