Apart from City taking Utd's place, the top 4 looks like the top four of old. wink

I think it is huge credit to our defence that Karius hasn't had to make a single save of note to date that I can recall, in any of the five games he has played in.
If he had come off his line he would have at least had a chance of being able to punch the cross away on Saturday they scored from.

Which goes back to my point regarding his indecisiveness. Now he doesn't know whether to come out and punch or not, after flapping in the last couple of games.

Hopefully he can just clear his head, Klopp can maybe horse-whisper him with a nice arm around his shoulder. Some practice wouldn't go amiss either! smile

Watch Schmeichel junior for the current champions, he often does the same (doesn't come for a cross when the ball ends up on the six-yard line)

Come off his line for the WBA cross that lead to the goal?

Didn't realise Gordon Banks and Hugo Lloris were posting on here!

Probably why as much as Coutinho I feel Firmino is probably the most important player in our team

More credit for our free signing Matip -

Klopp: "After the last international break I spoke to both of them and we made this decision. Loris is number 1, Simon is number 2."

That is a lot of public faith placed on the young man. Klopp knows the player and has made his decision. Sometimes this can give a player the belief and confidence to perform - for others it can be a huge burden. Will be interesting to see how he gets on over the next few league games.

I don't know how anyone can look at our goal keeping situation and not think it's an obvious weak point in the team right now.

Nor do I think Mignolet will settle for being number 2, especially if Karius continues his current form. That for me would just be favouritism. I think under such circumstances, Mignolet will look for a move in the summer.

If Karius remains as number one this season I'd rather we cashed in on Mignolet and brought Ward back. How's he doing anyway? Anyone kept up with his loan?

Scan back a few years on the United threads and you'd see some very similar conversations about DDG and he's now one of the few bright spots in our squad

Of course it is, but the remedy is not always to go out and keep trying to buy the solution.

I agree with this. I think we may sell Mignolet next summer - Ward needs games this season. From what I've heard he's been doing very well. He's cemented his place in the team, who are hovering around the top of the Championship with one of the best defensive records in the league. He's certainly one of the better goalkeeping prospects we've had in recent years!

If Mings doesn't play, he will want to leave, of course - he's an international keeper and won't enjoy being demoted. But he has consistently shown he's not reliable top quality, week in and week out. I hope Karius steps up and doesn't cost us many games between now and the end of the season. We are a team in progress - no doubt Klopp thinks he WILL be top quality in time.

Most chances created for Liverpool in the league this season:

Firmino (25)
Coutinho (21)
Milner (15)
Clyne (14)
Wijnaldum (13)

For me, forget he is called Milner, forget he is not a LB the best LB in the prem so far this year has been Milner..fantastic effort from him

Never yet seen him beaten by any winger..attacks like Moreno but can defend like Clyne...
Well done Klopp for seeing it

Yup, Milner wasn't getting much love on here but he really is a bloody good player and has been since he signed.

Milner has been exceptional at left back. Lets hope he doesn't get injured as I would rather never see Moreno play for us again. Gomez surely must be close to a comeback at some point.

I think put Milner in goal and he'd put his head down and get on with it. An genuine professional who has made the most of the talent that he has.

Milner has been superb. He is a real leader in everything he does.
