And Klopp was clearly seeing how his players can play when asked to do something different. He has been banging on about how flexible his formation is, and how the players need to be, so them playing 2 up front would seem to fit in with that.

Mourinho up on an FA charge for his comments before the Liverpool v Manchester United game.

Its a simple rule to follow and its there for a good reason. He really should just STFU.

I like Mourinho in the league, obviously in charge of another team but I like him nonetheless. It'd be a boring place without characters like him.

As for Klopp's plan B. I like his it is developing to look like something other than lump it to the big man. Swapping to 3412 with two out and out striker on the pitch would be something I'd like us do when 433 isn't creating enough against a team that has just parked the bus. We have the players for it

Karius
Lovren Matip Sakho
Clyne Henderson Wijnaldum Milner
Lallana/Coutinho
Sturridge Origi

Obviously we'd sub for instance Firmino & Mane for Sturridge and Origi and one of Coutinho or Lallana for the extra centre back.

There are times when two decent strikers on the pitch will help us break teams down much more effectively than lump it to to Benteke ever would do.

Mignolet speaks...

“I don’t want to be a No2, that’s clear. I want to play,” he said. “I will never give up fighting. Firstly because that’s not in my character, to just give up. Secondly because I am not in a situation where I can sit on the bench. I’m 28 years old and I want to play week in, week out.

“So I’ll work hard and I’ll never give up – giving up is not what I want to do. I see it as a challenge that I can overcome. So hopefully it will be a fair challenge based on performances put in on the pitch.”

Only thing you would expect him to say really, dont think anyone would have thought he would be happy or accept it...he is just going to have to deal with it for now

My reading of that is if Karius messes up or continues to look dodgy at crosses then I want to be treated fairly and that means I get a chance.

My thoughts are that regardless of what happens, Klopp will stick with Karius this season and Mignolet will be keeping goal somewhere else next season. We can bring back Ward and that may indeed be that regarding keepers.

This. He was entertaining in his 1st stint at Chelsea. Now he's just become a miserable fker. Always complaining. Always someone else's fault when things aren't going his way. He's lost all his humor.

I genuinely would put his press conferences on tv to watch, nowadays I am more inclined to turn them off, he is always blaming something or someone for something and generally is a full blown whinger.....who sometimes comes across as if we should feel sorry for him

Much prefer our happy go lucky man biggrin

I find Maureen's whingeing extremely boring. It was a novelty, once. I used to be interested in what nonsense he'd come out with. But now, he's just a moaning so and so who sets out to antagonise and/or get his excuses in early. I was actually bothered that he was coming back to the Prem. Still, I don't suppose he'll be here too long.

Meh, what does he know? I am still sticking to my years of experience from occasionally watching a football game to insist that we'll be 5-8th place this season.

My reaction was "wow" but actually it makes sense to have the whole club in 1 location (at least the playing staff, anyway). I guess FSG can then sell off Melwood for housing or something (ker-ching).
Do we still have issues that people can scout Melwood and get a very good idea of our team etc? It would be good to fix that too.

SAF definitely admires Klopp and has done so for years.

He uses the word "identity" in that article and that is exactly the same as Rio F and Paul Scholes were saying when we beat them in the first leg of the UEFA tie last year. They were going mental as they could see what he was trying to do and couldn't see what LVG was trying to build.

He's worried that this bird might actually be getting back on it's perch!

Please keep insisting though... we've been playing really, really well ever since you originally stated that! biggrin
