It really is getting quite boring in here. Let's hope it stops with the next volume!

I don't want or need the final word. I don't think for one second there was anything wrong with my post this afternoon.

I'll continue to post my reflections on the football rather than criticisms of other posters because their opinions are sometimes unpopular.

Excellent article on the bbc webpage regarding the football focus interview with the legendary player and then later player/manager - King Kenny smile

Man, now I am jealous of you!! biggrin

Great find. I had this book around 1990... I think I cut a lot of the pages out for my 1990 scrapbook IIRC.

Probably it depends on our form? Winning matches and it will be happy. Lose one match and all hell will break lose again!

Seems you were spot on regarding the Keeper mate.

Shame some of the others in here just angry that you were right yet again.
I'm surprised to see you in here considering our last game was a win!

RT why write a post like that?! You do not do yourself any favours, very bullish for someone who felt they had been bullied!!
A post like what? My reflection of the game or my response to Desolate claiming I am a Man Utd fan?
I may disagree with the way RT avoids admitting his mistakes and getting it wrong just as much as the rest of us, and that he does seem a bit of a masochist fan, but I feel he was perfectly within his rights to respond in the way he did to some of the posts before this.

For the record I don't think RT is a UTD fan, my post above was a joke.

It made me smile, but I have to admit I do laugh at my own jokes, which is a bit infra dig isn''t it?

I have concluded it is simply not possible he is a troll.

It pains me to think of the music and footy stuff I cut up for scrapbooks as a kid...

And yep, I'm so made up at getting this book, I'm still kicking myself. smile

Thinking about it a bit more, I think this one actually survived the scrapbook cull although it has been lost in annals of time. Hopefully it didn't have a Paisley signature!

Not sure if this was posted earlier today but Klopp has , chosen Mignolet ahead of Karius for the derby:

It would have been harsh to drop him after the clean sheet.

Mingolet has been a model professional for this club hasn't he?

As much as I don't rate him at all, he has done himself proud in the way he's dealt with being dropped, and chuffed for him that he came back and performed well.

Bottom line is that we don't have a top class keeper at the club, and that worries and frustrates me in equal measure.

I think that in some quarters on here there is way too much quick judgement, way too much.

Grobs was terrible when he turned up.

Reina wasn't an instant hit

Dudek took time

De Gea was wanted out by every Man U fan for a large part of his first season

Seriously, were 2 minutes into a 23 yr olds first season for us - he may have not been very good in parts but to write him off so soon is just stupid.

I thought both Reina and Dudek were very good from the start. Reina lost interest after Rafa went and Dudek lost all confidence after the Forlan incident.

I'm sure Karius will get another chance. I don't think anyone thinks Mignolet is the answer.

God, could you imagine?! eek To be honest, its a fairly light read and more like a set of articles on each player from a newspaper column. And Bob comes across as far more lucid in print than he ever did talking - so clearly its been written up and expanded by Clive Tyldesley. But there's some nice background info - like it was never intended Grobbelaar should replace Clem so quickly and ideally he would have been in the reserves learning his trade for another season before taking over (and how even at the time of writing they still had to continually tell him he needed to concentrate more). Its a nice history piece and the signature is priceless to me.

A scouse couple I know - the wife (a Red) told me she has Bob's signature somewhere "and we have have Shankly's - well Bill has, he used to live near him". Wasted on her husband Bill - he's an Everton fan. hehe

He's played 11 games for us, so around 1/4 of a season. The issue is he has looked like costing us points and has done so now. He's also likely to do so going forward as he's lost confidence/ hasn't shown signs of saving much. It would have been better to get him used to English football with a loan period most likely considering he's now lost confidence, and very much is in the eye of the public which puts pressure on him ahead. Easy to say with hindsight though.

Klopp said before the 'boro game that there was no timetable for Karius to return - clearly he's done the right thing, taken him out of the line of fire for now. If he's as good a professional as Mings (and no reason to suggest he isn't) he will use this and bounce back. Hopefully Mings will be solid for a while and people will stop having a pop at him too.
