He's not warning Klopp, that's just poor journalism. He's saying the kinds of things a manager like Klopp wants to hear. The only way he'd be going is if Klopp thinks it's worth cashing in for funds to buy someone he wants. Does Klopp think he works hard enough I suppose...only Klopp knows. I doubt Sturridge wants to leave, whatever sky are insinuating.
It's pretty clear Klopp is not playing him in the big games. Didn't see the game today, but playing Sturridge in that team and not in Europe effectively says he is a second team player. Whether it is a message for his attitude (which we don't see) or not remains to be seen, but it cannot be something that Sturridge wants now. Klopp may have made some good choices and got us to the semis in the Europa League, but I don't think it's a good thing to do with our only properly proven striker.NRS said:

I will stick with Klopps decisions for now, if DS wants to be first choice then he needs to earn it Anyone else think Klopp is going for boom or bust with the Europa League?! Either we win that and get CL next season, or we play the kids in the league for the last few games, give them some experience, see which will make it, but finish outside European places and give ourselves some fixture relief next season to have a better shot at top four?

Exactly that Jammy, we're effectively 2 wins from the CL. Why wouldn't we go all or nothing on that? Ok the Europa would be a nice fallback but injuries don't permit going full throttle on both league & cup fronts
We can't get 4th in the League so that options gone. It's all about the Cup now.

Klopp has said he's managing his fitness. When Sturridge first got back fit, Klopp said it would be a carefully managed process, aimed at getting him robust and fit, in effect.jammy_basturd said:

Yep, I'd agree. Happy to go with Klopp's opinion to be honest. It will be interesting to see which youngsters can step up and prove they should be kept. He needs to know who to ship out and make way, after all.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
