don't we save about 10m by Celtic employing him?
Maybe not - if its the severance pay, we'd still owe it to him. Unless there was an agreement that it was only paid while he was unemployed (but why would he agree to that?).

So Brendan is back in management at Celtic. At least he won't need to learn a new club anthem! laugh
Watch the idiot rest his best team during the champions league because the SPL is so tough.

They won it once, almost 50 years ago. Not quite sure that puts them in the same breath as Liverpool. They are a top Scottish club, obviously. I heard on the radio a day or 2 before it was announced that BR was still getting 5m a year from Liverpool. No wonder he smiles a lot.
Yeah but they will be playing the Bayerns & Barca's next season whilst you will be playing the Burton's & barnsley's.
Remind us again how many times Spuds have won the European Cup?
Remind us again how many times Spuds have won anything in the last 50 years?

I think I would be embarassed as a supporter of a club that included a post or pre- season tournament
as an honour. hehe

Apparently, BR is (or was) being paid £100k a week for "gardening leave" for two years (till the end of his contract i assume), but that ends as soon as he gets a job.

Good luck to him anyway

If that's the case, at least he's found a job and we can get that off our books. I wonder if anyone at Liverpool was touting out his CV and bigging him up hehe

I hope they were because before he lost his way he almost won us the league and did actually deliver the most exciting season in almost a decade.

He did indeed give us a great season (and yes, I know about the "we had Suarez" thing but you still need a decent manager). He clearly didn't cope too well with losing Suarez (and Gerrard, and Sturridge, in effect), and I have to say I rarely listened to his press conferences or interviews - I work with enough business types who talk that kind of bullst all day long, without hearing it from the boss of my club - but I don't bear him any ill will and hope he does well at Celtic.

Gonna take more than BR managing Celtic for that to happen.

He went from near god like status to laughing stock with many people in record time. His own PR was fine when you were winning but a disaster when you were losing.

A few posters on here swung a lot of opinions with constant sniping, eventually being proved 'right' when they went on long enough.

Funny how Joe Allen is now rightly seen as a great asset. Lucky he wasn't "burnt at the stake" really.

Yep it's great we got rid of that loser so we could have a top 4 finish and a few cups...oh hang on wink

Funnily enough the same 'right' posters were immensely wrong about the players to be culled.

Shows we all are just guessing smile

Well, none of us are footy managers in the Prem, so ultimately, while we can spout our opinions, we really are talking bks, even if we might be right some of the time. laugh

I'm glad we're getting a bit of business done early, can you imagine how the prices are going to go once City, Chelsea & Utd get their war chests out? Not that we're at that end of the market.

I imagine Wenger is going to have to raid the tea fund to add to his £1 coin this year as well.

Yup, I much prefer getting the signings in asap. New goalie, very highly rated apparently - but will be a number 2 for now.

In other news Gotze has said he's looking forward to the next season at Bayern...
