Not sure how you all think Sterling has been a failure since leaving Liverpool.

He's currently a regular starter in the England 1st XI, he's about to start playing for the most sought after manager in the world, he's just about to start playing for the 3rd consecutive season in the prestigious champions league, he earns they say around £200k a week & the kids only 21 years old.

I think he's done rather well in all honesty.
Thanks for that, I reckon you have pitched that troll post EXACTLY spot on.

Good look to Raheem and all his north London followers.

Sterling is still living off that one season with Liverpool. Hasn't progressed since going to city, only cost 50m, and paid handsomely because 1) he is young and English, and 2) City paid it and money is not object. Also he has spent a lot of time on the bench.
Fair play to him he is stealing a living, but I suspect after the players Pep has had to work with he must look at Sterling and think WTF.

I think we all mean he hasn't lived up to his £50m price tag, which is what most of us were saying when we sold him. I think you're the only person who didn't get that.

And it's yet to be seen whether he plays for Pep. My bet would be that he plays a bit part in City's next season, at best. Good luck to him though, if he realises his potential he'd be a fantastic player to watch.

Its hard not to feel a lot of schadenfreude when it comes to Sterling, and his agent in particular but the brutal truth is he moved to a club more likely to win things and got a mahoosive pay rise, and his scum bag agent earned a nice % of that £50M which will encourage further scumbag behaviour.

We can hardly grumble given our raiding of Southampton players.

He hasn't got the same playing time he was getting at Liverpool, and short-term his confidence is shot and ability has worsened. Probably not nice to be the public whipping boy of England at the Euros either.

As he left LFC in an unpleasant manner I don't care for him or his development - I suspect he will be blaming everyone else and collect a few medals from the bench, whilst feeling a fk-you smugness while looking at his bank balance and cruising in his white Bentley CGT with chrome spinners and booster cushion on drivers seat.

I thought he drove a Smart car?

That was after his mates trashed his Mercedes and left it ... nice.

I don't think anyone was complaining about that - it was just he was not a £50M. He has a big flaw for a club like City which is he is an attaching midfielder who cannot score. For a club like us we may not have the money to improve on a player like that so he could keep a first team place. For a club like City they have enough money that they won't "waste" a few wins a season as a result of him missing his chances, so they can throw a lot of money at a replacement who is attacking but ALSO can get goals (and so some extra points per season). Thus a lot guessed he might have issues with the move as a result of his big weakness.

ETA: Wee Joe is having another decent game, smile

I thought the same, back to his best. Still think we have better options now.

It's just one game. We've seen him stuff plenty up for us, let's not get remorseful.

I like him and remember good times but he had to go and were onto better things.

Probably too late for any MOTM performance to bump up his price a bit, I suppose... hehe

Does anyone know if Klopp is doing analysis on the Euros for German TV?

On a brighter note how good is Joe Allen at the moment? I think a few people have to admit they were wrong about him and it feels strange to say that heading into the new season he could be a key player for us.

Klopp used him sparingly, but he always did well when given the chance. The more players we have in form, the stronger the squad. I hope he stays. He has a role to play next season.

I wonder if we can say the same for Henderson...?

Can't see him really being a part of the team, certainly not Captain.

Certainly not on last season's showing. But then he had a lot of injuries and was rarely fully fit. Whether or not he can get the form back he had when we finished 2nd, is the key.
